Robbed of its moral bearings, bereft of any sense of right and wrong, incapable of distinguishing heroes from villains, the West can no longer celebrate when good triumphs over evil.
Israel’s brilliantly audacious booby-trapping of thousands of Hezbollah pagers, followed by the blowing up of the terror group’s walkie-talkies, is a stunning fillip for the forces of civilisation worldwide.
A tiny nation of just 9.3 million, of which 7.2 million are Jewish, living in a country the size of Wales, reeling from the worst antisemitic pogroms since the Holocaust, Israel is leading the war against barbarism, its young conscripts doing a job that would once have required intervention by a Western coalition acting as global policeman.
The fact that so many in Britain, Europe and America, especially the young, no longer take Israel’s side in this existential combat exemplifies our cultural, intellectual and ethical degeneration….
Even now the usual suspects — Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and other “progressives” — are attacking Israel for its sabotaging of Hezbollah pagers and walkie-talkies, claiming that such attacks were “indiscriminate” and killed too many civilians. But these attacks were as precisely targeted as possible: Hezbollah handed out both pagers and walkie-talkies only to its members. A total of 37 people died from those exploding devices, of whom only two were children who had apparently picked up their fathers’ pagers. Hezbollah has not announced any women victims, which likely means there were none. Such a result, with almost every one of those 3,000 wounded and 37 killed being a member of Hezbollah, ought to be applauded. Allister Heath is right to remind us that Israel is “the supreme embodiment of law-bound national, democratic sovereignty,” and to demand that “we must support Israel and allow it to finish the job of annihilating Hamas and defeating Hezbollah.”
The West should also recall what this war really is: it is a jihad. Jihad, jihad, jihad. Use the word. The Arabs and Muslims are using it, day after day, not least in Gaza. It is a jihad. It is prompted by the tenets of Islam, and those tenets do not say “compromise with the Infidels.” Those tenets do not say “leave them with a tiny rump state.” Those tenets do not say “Push them back to the pre-1967 armistice lines” or “Push them back until they are sufficiently small.” No, Islam tells Muslims not to countenance, not to endure, any Infidel state, any state which permits non-Muslims the right to determine their own destiny, any entity or institution which would allow non-Muslims that modicum of power that would keep them from being reduced to the status of dhimmis — no, neither the Qur’an, nor the Hadith, nor the example of Muhammad himself, permits such an interpretation.
Some, but not enough, Israelis, have come to understand this — not enough in time to prevent the Gaza disaster of Oct. 7, 2023. But whether the Israelis do or do not come to comprehend their enemy and the relentless jihad against them, that is no reason for the rest of us, the Infidels outside the Middle East, not to recognize the nature of the war against Israel and how it merely prefigures, and is not the cause of, the larger worldwide jihad against all Infidels, to be conducted with whatever means prove most efficacious. It does not make sense to pursue open military challenges to the West. It does make sense to divide and demoralize and terrorize not only that West, but all parts of the Infidel population, whether or not they are within dar al-Islam: the Christians who remain in the Middle East, along with the Jews in Israel, as well as the Hindus and Buddhists and Confucians in such Muslim-ruled countries as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, or even within Infidel lands where a small Muslim population still manages, as in Europe or Thailand or the Philippines or even India, to conduct attacks on Infidels despite the disparity in numbers.
Why is it that the Western world and Americans in particular fail to comprehend this and waste time actually ignoring the problem of Islam and pretending that the matter can somehow be solved through negotiations and ceasefires and the ever elusive “two-state solution”?

In his book “The Palestinian Delusion”(which I have bought, read and recommend; also, it’s not too long, one can read it in a few hours), Robert Spencer argues that a “two-state solution” will never work, as long as the vast majority of the Palestinian Arabs cling to an ideology of jihadism against Jews and Israelis.

As you point out, the Islamists want to recapture Spain, Greece and other territories Islam used to dominate. Moreover, they also want to retake all of India and China, as well as the entire E.U., the UK, the USA, basically the entire world.
They even want to conquer, pillage, rape and genocide the North Sentinelese, but the North Sentinelese would kick their HamArses even worse than an Israeli-made pager or walkie-talkie.

I listened to “experts” today who have seen from the outset, the Russia-Ukraine war for the inevitable loss that it is, yet condemn Israel because they don’t understand that the war in Israel is both religious and existential. They hold onto a delusional view that politics is always a stronger drive, in this modern world, than religion which allows them to push a two-state solution that, in reality, Islam will say it accepts but after getting, would still do everything possible to destroy Israel.
I can only conclude that the Deep State, in its Atheism, mistakenly projects its own political thinking upon Muslims and Islam plays along to fool them. Why is the West so ignorant of orthodox Islam’s long-term goal of eliminating all Jews? Why won’t the West’s shadow governments read the central books of Islam?
