The Jerusalem Post contacted four Lebanese, both inside the country and in the diaspora, quite varied in age and station, but all of them hostile to Hezbollah, for their opinions on Hezbollah after the “pager” attack. More about their remarkable replies can be found here: “‘Iranian proxies and drug lords’: Lebanese react to Hezbollah’s ‘pager intifada’ – interview,” by Ohad Merlin, Jerusalem Post, September 19, 2024:
Dr. Ghassan Bou Diab
Peace activist, and director of Demokrattia Center for Research & Strategic StudiesI want to address directly the leader of a militia that dominates my country and jeopardizes its sovereignty.
Hassan Nasrallah has plunged his community and his people into a confrontation with the State of Israel, one of the foremost nations in terms of technological and military advancement, all under the pretext of “supporting Gaza.”
The day after the terrorist Hamas began its fateful operation, Nasrallah initiated gunfire into Israeli territory, causing tens of thousands of innocent civilians to flee their homes. He supported the terrorist organization in its horrific crime of kidnapping hostages and using civilians as human shields.
Nasrallah’s misguided bets have characterized his entire journey. He gambled that Israel could not withstand a prolonged war, but Israel surprised everyone, and the war continued for nearly a year. He bet on the collapse of the political, security, and military institutions, yet Israel has proven to be cohesive and fighting for its own existence – a critical component not found in the combat doctrine of younger, inexperienced militants….

Surreal events… actually insane! How was it even possible? How could it be so precise? How can it happen two days in a row?
On this day we can’t but remember the May 2008 clashes in Lebanon, when the Lebanese government wanted to dismantle Hezbollah’s telecommunication system and Hezbollah chose to go to war and attack the Lebanese people to protect its telecommunication network. Here we are years later and their communication devices are exploding in their faces! It sounds like justice was served!
As usual, Hezbollah’s propaganda machine is trying to gaslight the public into believing that the targeted Hezbollah members are civilians! While the Western Left is trying to make it look like it’s an attack on Lebanon, where in reality, Lebanon is only closer to being free from Hezbollah….

As a Lebanese Patriot and Druze from Mount Lebanon, I stand vehemently against Hezbollah, the real enemy of Lebanon and the Lebanese spirit….
They are Iranian proxies and drug lords with no sense of Lebanese patriotism, and they bring us war and destruction to fulfill their Iranian mullah’s interests and endanger our families and children by doing so….
B.
The moment I heard the news, I felt a surge of happiness, especially considering what they’ve done for Israel, Lebanon, and Syria, as well as their recent massacre in Majdel Shams. I was hopeful that this could be a turning point, possibly leading the Lebanese people to rise up against the terrorist organization….
All four of these Lebanese respondents welcomed the Israeli “pager-and-walkie-talkie” attack. They fear Hezbollah, and hate what the terror group has done to Lebanon, by constantly launching rockets and drones into Israel, which brings retribution that has damaged much of the country’s infrastructure in the south, as happened with special intensity during the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war). These four Lebanese recognize Hezbollah’s malignity; they keep hoping that Nasrallah will come to his senses and call a halt to his aggression. They know that Hezbollah does not consist of Lebanese patriots, but of “Iranian proxies and drug lords.” If Tehran gave Nasrallah the command to attack Israel in an all-out war, he would at once obey, even though he knows what damage the IDF would surely inflict upon Lebanon’s infrastructure. All four of those Lebanese hope for a decisive Israeli victory over Hezbollah (“May Israel help us ‘beep’ them out of existence.”) These are remarkable testimonies from anti-Hezbollah Lebanese whose voices so seldom manage to be heard.

Hezbollah is evil. I start with this premise and it is a premise I have never found even the remotest reason to reconsider.
And here is what I wish would have happened decades ago: Two Lebanons: A southern Christian Lebanon in close alliance with Israel and a northern Muslim Lebanon which, somewhat like Jordan, would have a cold peace with a southern Lebanon nation and Israel. Since Lebanon is about 4,000 square miles, two Lebanese nations would each be about the size of Delaware or, by European measurements, each about twice the size of Luxembourg.
It could have worked and Beirut in its entirety could have been part of a northern Lebanon but remaining the banking center of the Middle East. But all of this has been lost for one reason above all and that is the pervasive hate found in the Islamic faith towards all who are not Muslim and especially Jews.
Islam ruins so much and the more devout the Muslim, such as members of Hezbollah and Hamas, the worse it invariably is for all, including other Muslims.

One has to feel for these people and hope that their dreams come true.
If the nasty snake knew who they were, they wouldn’t be allowed to keep living in Lebanon; and the two not inside the nation, would not ever be allowed back in.
There are most likely thousands more who feel the same about the terrorists and glad that Israel found a way to do some real damage to hezbollah’s ‘organization.’

There are many memes and headlines regarding the pager attacks.

Those are funny, tgusa. Thanks for sharing.

My advise to Hez and the like is, do not pick up a discarded cigarette pack or abandoned bottle of camel urine. As a matter of fact, dont touch anything.
A line from a movie from back in the day is appropriate…the only winning move is not to play.

They should even be careful about putting on turbans, or flushing a toilet or sitting on a toilet seat, or opening a fridge, or turning on a TV, computer or radio.
Like Abu Fatua (a Hamas fighter) says in the “Untisemity College” parody video, “It will be a blast!”

Or worse, Mike, and on and on, and on.
Yes, the hez should watch out for anything everything everywhere. I really dont like and would rather avoid conflict but following this conflict has been, well, entertaining. The fools must be pretty ashamed that they are caught being that stupid throughout the entire thing.
I would and so would you…so?

Perhaps they should just stay in bed….and hope they don’t have a nightmare that causes them to fall out.

They used pagers and then, kaboom.
So they said, those aren’t secure, switch to walkie-talkies. And then, kaboom.
So they said, those aren’t secure, lets do a in-person meeting. And then, kaboom.
They need a tried and tested fall back. I suggest two paper cups and some string.

One question about these 4 people. Aside from the Druze Jinnan, were the other 3 Christians, sunnis, shi’a? Since one would assume that opinion would vary according to their faith
somehistory says
I wondered that as well.
Joe says
I wouldn’t assume that opinion varies with faith. Rather, faith my have an influence on them, but when they see the injury and harm, they probably think, “(expletive) that”.

Hebollah is a Shia organization, except Iran and other Shia muslim organizations which are rare, it doesn’t have support from the rest of the Islamic world. Sunni muslims will throw Hezbollah under the bus right after it finishes its function namely attacking Israel.
Of course Hezbollah leaders realize the situation very well, but they keep the hostility towad Israel as long as they get money from Iran or other sources, and pocket the money for themselves just like Hamas leaders. Who cares their own people, as their holy prophet was always sacrificing muslims for his own benefit (and then picked the pretty widows given the opportunity)

“These four Lebanese recognize Hezbollah’s malignity”
I wonder if these four Lebanese, and the moslems in Lebanon recognize that ISLAM is what is malignant!!
I think now is the time for Lebanese moslems to RENOUNCE THEIR FAITH – Renounce it WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE. They should slaughter their moslem leaders!! THEN THEY WILL BE FREE AND CAN JOIN THE CIVILIZED WORLD rather than live in moslem shiiteHoles!!

I believe it will be up to the patriotic people of every nation with terrorists in their nation to eliminate the terrorists in their nation. Grow a backbone and get rid of the evil….for your children.
