Tim Walz — coach and teacher and folksy straight-talking Middle Westerner Tim Walz — was recently speaking out about the Gaza war. Or rather, he was speaking out about those who have been speaking out about it. And his views are most disturbing. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, told a Michigan NPR affiliate on Thursday that anti-Israel protesters in Michigan “are speaking out for all the right reasons.”
“I think those folks who are speaking out loudly in Michigan are speaking out for all the right reasons. It’s a humanitarian crisis. It can’t stand the way it is, and we need to find a way that people can live together in this,” Walz said in an interview with WCMU, a public radio station serving central and northern Michigan….
Those “folks” in Michigan, especially in the Arab-dominated cities of Dearborn and Hamtramck, have been “speaking out loudly” against Israel, which they accuse of “genocide” in Gaza; they demand that the American government impose an arms embargo on Israel, and call for a “free Palestine, from the river to the sea” — which means the disappearance of Israel and its replacement by a twenty-third Arab state. That’s what Tim Walz describes as “speaking out for all the right reasons.”
“I think first and foremost, what we saw on October 7 was a horrific act of violence against the people of Israel. They have certainly, and the vice president said it, l’ve said it, have the right to defend themselves, and the United States will always stand by that,” Walz began.
That “horrific act of violence against the people of Israel” who “have the right to defend themselves” is by now standard boilerplate, always to be followed by a clause beginning with “but,” as in “but that war has gone on far too long” or “but the innocent civilians in Gaza have suffered enough.”
In his answer, Walz did not mention Hamas. Nor did he refer to the six hostages, including U.S. citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin, who were murdered over the weekend.
Why did Walz not mention the terror group Hamas? Who is Israel fighting against, after all? Is he afraid, determined as he is, and Kamala Harris too, of offending the Muslim and Arab voters in Michigan? And while he spoke just after the news was reported worldwide about the IDF’s finding the bodies of the six Israeli hostages, he made no reference to them. Did he figure that such a mention would offend those Muslim voters he was trying to appeal to, implying a certain sympathy for the murdered Israelis? And he was willing to pander to those Muslims’ wishes?
“We can’t allow what’s happened in Gaza to happen,” Walz continued. “The Palestinian people have every right to life and liberty themselves. We need to continue, I think, to put the leverage on to make sure we move towards a two-state solution.”
Walz thinks what “what’s happened in Gaza” is deplorable. What exactly does he deplore? That the IDF has successfully dismantled most of the terror group? Has he forgotten that 6,000 Hamas operatives smashed into Israel, and proceeded to rape, torture, and murder 1,200 Israelis and kidnap 251 of them, beginning a war that Israel did not want and did not expect? The IDF has been conducting its assault on Hamas while making colossal efforts to minimize civilian casualties, by warning those civilians away from areas and buildings that are about to be targeted? Surely Walz cannot be unaware that the IDF had by March already dropped nine million leaflets, sent fifteen million text messages, and made sixteen million robocalls, all to warn civilians away from danger. What does Walz think of the statement by West Point Professor of Urban War Studies, John Spencer, who has said that “Israel has implemented more precautions to prevent civilian harm than any military in history — above and beyond what international law requires”?
Why does Walz think the “Palestinian people” — who came into existence for propaganda purposes only in the mid-1960s — “have every right to life and liberty themselves,” when what they seek is the “liberty” to murder Jews? Has he read the Hamas Charter of 1987, that calls for an end to the Jewish state and the expulsion or murder of all of its Jews?
Does he think that the Palestinian Arabs are more deserving of “life and liberty” than, for example, the Kurds in Iraq, the Berbers in North Africa, the black Africans in Sudan, all of whom are held in thrall by Muslim Arabs? What have the Palestinian Arabs done to deserve such special sympathy and support from honest Tim Walz? Why hasn’t he ever mentioned those other peoples who deserve “life and liberty”?

If the people of gaza had been living a life under Israeli government, but one day, the Jews allowed hamas members to come in and take over, one could feel sympathy for those people. But, those people, those mozlums, chose hamas to rule over them and many of them joined in with hamas to rape, torture, hold hostage, enslave and murder innocent people who had been enjoying music and dancing, or getting ready for bed; or sitting down to eat with their families.
Israel doesn’t just have a “right to self-defense,” they have an obligation to defend themselves and their fellow citizens from any more of this demonic raping, kidnapping, torturing and murder dished out by the “palestinian” mozlums.
