Bangladeshi Muslim leader asks Indian state to declare independence, threatens to destabilize northeast India

Though Bangladesh is staring at an inevitable financial collapse, industries are shutting down, and prices of essential goods are skyrocketing, the youth of the Muslim-majority country are preoccupied with fueling their Islamic dreams. They’re visualizing Gazwa-e-Hind (the jihad conquest of India) and talking about capturing the seven northeastern states of India, as well as instigating insurgency in West Bengal, the Indian state that shares a language and a border with Bangladesh. A country with over 180 million Muslims and a diminishing non-Muslim minority population, Bangladesh has been hurtling towards absolute Sharia madness since the toppling of the Hasina government. The interim government has Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus (who has a shady past that we can discuss some other day) seated as the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh. However, the members of the Jamat-e-Islam outfit and Muslim leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party are really running the show. One of the first missions the Yunus government prioritized after assuming political power was freeing all the jailed jihad terrorists and accused jihadis, and lifting the bans on pro-jihad and pro-Sharia Islamic organizations.

Jashimuddin Rahmani, one such Muslim whom the Yunus government liberated, is also the chief of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), a Bangladesh-based al-Qaida-affiliated terrorist outfit. Rahmani made highly inflammatory remarks against India earlier this week. In a viral video, he threatened to destabilize Bangladesh’s neighboring country and pleaded with Pakistan and Afghanistan to help him “liberate Kashmir.”

By its appearance, it seems that the video was recorded in a hospital early in September, from which the recently released terror convict warned India against associating with former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He further urges Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, to free the state from “Modi’s rule” and declare independence.

He boasts that Bangladesh is a country of 180 million Muslims, unlike “Sikkim or Bhutan,” and threatens India that with the help of China, he will cut off the Siliguri corridor, often referred to as the “chicken’s neck,” which connects northeast India to the rest of the country.

“Tell Kashmir to get ready for freedom. Pakistan and Afghanistan will help Kashmir gain independence together. We will work for the freedom of Kashmir,” he added in the viral video. While Indian authorities may dismiss threats from Bangladesh as a joke, Jashimuddin Rahmani does indeed pose a serious risk to India’s security, given his organization’s strong ties to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and its efforts to establish a jihadi network in India through sleeper cells.

The political ambitions of the West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, who is notorious for her pro-Islamic politics, make the threats from the Bangladeshi terror convict appear to be severe. Under her reign, the border state has witnessed a massive influx of infiltrators from Bangladesh. Bangladeshi Muslims cross over into the Indian territory through the porous international border, and attain counterfeit IDs. Critical positions in Banerjee’s government are filled with Muslim leaders who have repeatedly exposed their jihadi frame of mind. The mayor of the state capital has referred to parts of Kolkata as “mini Pakistan,” and despite holding a government office in a secular state, has called people not born in Islam “unfortunate.” He has encouraged his Muslim followers to bring more and more people in the Islamic fold, thereby advocating for religious conversions. Several groups harboring anti-India sentiment, which urge Hindu residents of West Bengal to go by their Bengali identity only, have sprung up in the past few years. Mamata Banerjee also borrowed the Bangladesh liberation slogan “Jai Bangla” during her election campaign. With all these distinct factors combined, India does seem to have a new enemy in the making.

Bangladesh’s increasing hatred for India is rooted in its Islamic fervor. The country is dependent on India for every aspect of survival. Whether it is treatment in Kolkata or Bangalore hospitals, groceries, or electricity from Adani, the country stands helpless without India. But the fact that India is the only secular force standing in the way of the complete Islamization of South Asia seems to have upset Bangladesh. In the coming times, with unemployment and lack of real education, this little nation is likely to yield an enormous number of terrorists joining international Islamic terror groups; many of these will infiltrate India and expand the jihad sleeper cells that are mushrooming in Muslim ghettos throughout the country. India must prepare itself for its latest jihadi enemy. Cutting exports to Bangladesh and stopping medical visas will be half the battle won, in case anyone is taking notes.
