In a kindergarten in the 14th district of Vienna, the teachers were asked to keep their clothes “buttoned up in the future” so as not to provoke Muslim fathers who pick up their children with their appearance. While the responsible municipal department MA 10 and the education councillor Christoph Wiederkehr want to keep the incident to themselves and distance themselves from the instruction on Muslim dress codes, the opposition is stunned.
State party chairman Karl Mahrer called on councillor Wiederkehr to act immediately: “This latest case of completely misunderstood tolerance in Vienna shows once again the integration failure of the Vienna city government. Neos councillor Christoph Wiederkehr is called upon to act urgently and protect the teachers in this kindergarten from medieval rules!”
Do not bow to the medieval image of women
Councillor Caroline Hungerländer, integration spokesperson for the Vienna People’s Party, also calls for immediate action: “Instead of demanding an adjustment to our values and supporting the teachers – as they deserve – the teachers are being asked to bow to the medieval image of women held by Muslim fathers. This cannot be allowed and must be stopped immediately by the responsible authorities!”FPÖ calls for consequences
The Viennese FPÖ found even clearer words. “If Muslim fathers now want to tell kindergarten teachers how they should dress, then these practices must be put to a clear stop. Such Islamist parents have no place in this city and should return to their Islamic homeland,” said Viennese FPÖ leader Dominik Nepp, who is himself a father of two. “I call on SPÖ Mayor Ludwig and Education Councillor Wiederkehr to instruct Viennese kindergartens to immediately report such outrageous demands and to impose consequences for these parents,” emphasises Nepp.

Muslim sensitivities. That is an oxymoron. Muslims do not have sensitivities for anyone NOT a Muslim and very few for Muslims who prefer not to practice outdated rules. Muslims only have demands based on their 1300 old outdated rules. To adhere to them and not be a Muslim is beyond absurd. To adhere to them if you are a Muslim is just very unfortunate for you and everyone around you who is not a Muslim. Living your life according to pre-medieval rules and customs as if you just woke up in 650 A.D. is not normal. And that time warp causes much of the problems in the world because something like a billion people live according to varying degrees of such a life.
The best way to treat Muslims for the health of the whole planet is to make them aware of how maladjusted they are in today’s world. Maladjustment is a term used in psychology to refer the “inability to react successfully and satisfactorily to the demand of one’s environment”. The way most people live in 2024 is not according to the misogynistic laws of Islam. Making Austrian women or any other women dress so as not to “inflame” Muslim ire is not helping anyone and actually doing harm.

I doubt that many Kindergarten teachers are dressing inappropriately–but if any few were, the concern of civilized people would be that this is not good for the children–not that it inflames the fathers.
Also note–generally Muslim fathers take little interest in their chldren when they are young, yet they–and not their mothers–seem to typically be picking them up at Kindergarten. My guess is that in many cases the mothers are not allowed to leave the house. All deeply troubling.
