As UK moves to criminalize ‘Islamophobia,’ Secretary of State sidesteps question about what it actually is

The term “Islamophobia” is an illegitimate conflation of two distinct phenomena: vigilante attacks against innocent Muslims, which are never justified, and honest analysis of the motivating ideology of jihad terror, which is always necessary. The objective of this conflation is to silence that analysis by falsely claiming that it leads to or causes those attacks.

And so now we have this initiative in the UK, presumably under the guise of an effort to counter those vigilante attacks. But what it will lead to will be those who support Israel or criticize the jihad ideology will be liable to be considered an enemy of the state, as the Starmer government has already demonstrated.

  1. Light will always overcome darkness but who’s to govern how long or how severe the darkness can become before the light starts to break through. The darkness for Jews during the Holocaust lasted up to 4 years, not counting the pre-darkest days of persecution. Good never changes, neither does Evil. We never expected to see and finally understand how a great society like Germany (now England) could fall so far. This is indeed on the doorsteps of Israel itself.

    • This darkness has not only come over England as Scotland has had its share also.

      • Yes, British weather is bloody awful. Of course that’s why those north of the border invented whisky, a Gaelic word meaning “Water of Life”.

  2. What will their definition of ‘islamophobia’ be?
    Will it incorporate the suppression of freedom of speech, where even saying you disagree with islam will be grounds to charge you?

    A ‘phobia’ is an ‘irrational’ fear of something.
    Watching what those who follow islam do and the terrorism they promote, such as Hamas and a few other groups, it is no longer an irrational fear as It is based on fact and reality.

    It becomes increasingly clear ‘why’ George Orwell, an English writer, wrote “1984”. He was describing what he saw his ‘own country’ doing, along with the the rest of the world governments doing.

    It’s like the movie, “V for Vendetta”…it took place in England.

    • Dave: good comments But, not just a few other groups. Besides Hamas,
      there’s al-Qaeda, I.S., Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Boko Haram, al-Shabab, Jemaah Islamiah, and probably another dozen or so Islamist terror groups that I’ve failed to mention.

  3. Terrorists are “Hard Targets”. So it is far easier to go after soft targets. So the victims who fear Islamic terrorists are soft targets of terrorists and out of fear complain to the government authorities. The PM is also afraid of terrorists ….so he will now arrest the innocent for reacting to terrorism and will call them Islamophobes and will make being afraid of terrorists and their terrorist religion a criminal offense.

    • Calling them merely “stupid” is in itself dare I say it stupid.
      Stazi two tier Starmer is far far far worse.

    • In my experience of reading the Bible, it seems that one of the most dangerous conditions for a society to be in is when it calls good bad, and bad good. I don’t know if that delusion can be fixed. Good begats good and evil begats evil. Which side has the momentum?

  4. This labour party is going to be an absolute disaster for the UK, the damage they will cause this country will be irreparable. Angela Rayner and Keir Starmer are a pair of radical left lunatics whose mission is to flood the country with illegal migrants (my apologies Mr Starmer I should have called them irregular migrants as you now call them). And now Angela Rayner abandons plans to give priority to British citizens over migrants for council houses. In other words long term British citizens are no longer first in the queue to get a council house, migrants that have just arrived could get houses before them.

    • Soon to be matched by Pakistan and Somalia, etc, It is easier to fall than to rise up when evil holds sway.

  9. In the US, the Secretary of State is equivalent to the Foreign Minister of most other countries. What does the UK Secretary of State do?
