New in PJ Media:
Jimmy Carter will be 100 years old on Oct. 1. That in itself might have been enough to stage a concert in his honor. After, no other president has hit the century mark, and so why not? Yet when the roster of D-listers, has-beens and never-weres took the stage to honor Jimmuh last Tuesday, they weren’t content with praising his unprecedented longevity. Instead, they spent a great deal of time hailing “the singularity of his achievements” and praising the ways in which he supposedly made the country better. That’s right: once again leftists exchanged fantasy for reality.
The New York Times reported Friday that a stellar lineup including the B-52’s, BeBe Winans, Angélique Kidjo, Chuck Leavell “and many others,” some of whom you may even have heard of, took the stage at Atlanta’s venerable Fox Theatre to honor the failed president.
The air was thick with undeserved praise. “You can see he had a relationship to music — look at how we gathered here together tonight. He used it as a powerful tool to bring people together.” Carter brought people together? Then why is the country so divided today? I know, I know: The Gipper and the Bad Orange Man. Anyway, the business about how Carter used music to bring people together were the words of country singer Carlene Carter; the Times noted that Carter “is not related to the former president but said he still feels like kin.” According to multiple online sources, Carlene Carter is a woman and doesn’t claim to be a man, so it remains unclear why the Times referred to her as “he,” but it may just have been wishful thinking that she would jump onto the trans madness bandwagon.
The Times was less confused about the concert for Carter. “In many ways,” the Paper of Record pontificated, the concert “mirrored the scope and ambitions of the man it was celebrating: Global and idealistic in its reach, but firmly planted in Georgia, molded by religious and cultural traditions as well as the rich but complicated history of the rural South.” Uh huh. Global and idealistic and the worst president of the latter half of the twentieth century.
The performers showered him with praise. Michael Trotter Jr. “of the married duo the War and Treaty” called him “our forever president.” Carlene Carter added that Jimmy was a “mighty fine man.” Hannah Hooper of “the alternative rock band Grouplove” gushed that he was “an environmental god.” Musician Dave Matthews, addressing the hero of the night, who was not present, said: “You are most definitely the rock ’n’ roll president.” Chuck Leavell of the Allman Brothers band said: “We were so proud of his administration and all the accomplishments that he made.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

FYI Carlene Carter is the daughter of June Carter Cash through her marriage to Carl Smith. Therefore, Carlene is Johnny Cash’s stepdaughter.

President Carter had many failures ,but I have to say he and his family are not the grifters the Biden’s family are. The dozens of shell companies Joe with his son Hunter have with millions coming in with not producing any products or work ,The millions of dollars pouring in for Hunters “painting” from unknown people or corporations The shady deals Biden’s brother Frank broker on the Biden name with foreign corporations . Also I do not think we had any President in the last 60 years that has brought the world closer to WW3 with his idiotic foreign policies then senile Joe ..Biden’s rout of a retreat in Afghanistan causing 13 America service members to be killed ,many more crippled for life ,thousands of people that worked with us to face death ,while air lifting thousands of unvetted to the west is much worse then the Iran hostages in 1979-1980 that Carter faced. I think Joe is going to top Carter’s inflation and high unemployment if the Biden administration can not be keep from cooking the books on those numbers. Carter did not turn a blind eye to our borders ,or bring in illegal aliens in many cases flying far into the interior all over the country we have over 10 million and counting entering in the last 3.5 years . Yes Carter’s record was bad nothing compared to senile Joe.

One question: How much did Dave Matthews and the Allman Brothers member get for “gushing”? Those are the only two I have ever heard about and they have stepped down a big notch.
When an author writes a good novel, say a spy novel, he has to come up with challenges for the protagonist to overcome. He must go from one crisis to another, using his mind, and his physical skills to work out a solution to each one. Otherwise, it would not be an interesting read.
Just think about how many days Captain Kirk, Spock and the crew faced something coming at them at warp speed, and the delinium (or whatever) crystals failed,,,..”More power, Scotty.” “It’s over-heating, Captain.”
Now jimmy carter, inept and afraid of bunny rabbits, must have really liked books of fiction where the poor protagonist had way too many things coming at him at warp speed, all at the same time. So, he made fiction into a real-life situation with iran, the hostages, energy issues, and other stuff still lingering for a good protagonist to take on, both feet on the ground and a level headedness, neither of which did jimmy carter possess.

Ahh yess…the world’s greatest humanitarian. Of course his only actual “humanitarian” cause was “Stop the Semitism!”.

At one time, he was a peanut farmer, I think.
Mobuyus says
Yes and he was nuttyer than one of his peanut farm outhouses.
Mike says
He also had a brother, Billy, who drank a lot of beer and belched a lot.
somehistory says
the only real good thing he ever did was grow peanuts.
Mike says
Well, he did help build houses for low-income people, which was praiseworthy.
somehistory says
Yes, it was said that he did that. A couple of photos of him at a homesite with hammer were posted.
On the other hand, how many recipients came forth with praise, and how many were bumbed out? someone should ask.
He personally farmed the peanuts. that’s why I wrote “real”.

His achievements? Losing Iran to the Ayatollahs, breaking relations w/ Taiwan, so that today, if DC tries to have any formal comms channels w/ Taipei, Beijing gets a hemorrhage. Oh, and politicizing the Olympics and starting the trend of boycotts – the US boycott of the 1980 Moscow Olympics spurred the Soviet boycott of the 1984 LA Olympics
Otoh, I think that the 1970’s Carter was a major improvement even over Obama, let alone Biden or Kamala

Damn good question–perhaps just outliving many better men?
Troybeam says
All Carter’s achievements were not in the Oval Office, they were humanitarian efforts like building homes etc.
The Islamic world today was created by Jimmy Carter administration much like Richard Nixon and his trips to China, lasting effects that never should have happened.
Surprised he has lasted this long without his wife next to hime.
