US Islamic scholar: Hindus in Bangladesh should convert to Islam or be killed, shouldn’t be treated as equals

At least this malignant clown is honest. Convert or die are indeed the two options Islamic law offers to groups that are not “people of the book,” that is, primarily Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians. Islamic apologists in the West make endless efforts to obfuscate this, but then along comes someone on the order of Abu Najm Fernando bin al-Iskandar to reveal the facts.

The systematic targeting of Hindus in Bangladesh by radical Muslims has given rise to the homicidal fantasies of several Islamists worldwide, who are eagerly anticipating the killings to escalate into a pogrom and massacre of the last alive Hindu in the country. Abu Najm Fernando bin al-Iskandar who lives in the United States, claims to be a PhD student specialising in “Islamic studies” and defines himself as an “indigenous Muslim.” He has spent more than 20 years researching and teaching ‘Islamic sciences’ but his primary occupation is to spread hate against Kufar or Kafir (infidels) and harbour illusions about their subjugation or execution at the hands of Muslims.

After the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed and the anti-Hindu violence that has grabbed global headlines, he tweeted his excitement over the devastating developments, advocating for the complete annihilation of Hindus from the country. In his own words, the fact that three of the four schools of jurisprudence for ‘Ahl as-Sunnah’ (traditions and practices of Prophet Muhammad that constitute a model for Muslims to follow) hold that Hindus should only have two options, embrace Islam or die, provides him with “great solace.”

He added, “Hindus should be grateful they’re dealing with Hanafis and not Malikis, Shafi’ees, or Hanbalis,” he mocked while taking the names of Sunni Islamic schools of thought, insinuating that they are far more violent and hostile towards non-Muslims and would have treated vulnerable Hindus in Bangladesh with greater brutality.

He quoted Islamic law from the Hanbali school of jurisprudence, the predominant Sunni school in Saudi Arabia and Qatar which stated, “Thus, due to this, distinguishing themselves from the Muslims in their hair is required of them (i.e., non-Muslims under a covenant of protection) by shaving the front part of their heads and shearing their hair while not parting it due the fact that the Prophet Muhammad parted his hair,” to demonstrate how infidels should be met with humiliating treatment as they are inferior to Muslims.

He also showed his ‘generosity’ by assuring that he has no problem with Hindus who, while residing in Muslim nations, accept their subservient position, and abandon their faith which he called “shirk” (idolatry, polytheism and association with Allah) and live per Islamic laws and regulations. He further hoped that “Bangladesh gets cleaned of Hindu influence and meddling,” while referring to the attacks on Bangladeshi minorities as “Hindu propaganda.”…

He denounced Bangladesh’s contradictions in yet another lengthy post highlighting, “What’s crazy is that Muslims are talking about the future of Bangladesh being “more Islamic” while at the same time calling for good treatment of Hindus,” noting that infidels have no place in an Islamic state. He further asserted that Muslims and non-Muslims should be subject to different rules since the latter should be treated as lesser beings and made to live as subhumans while forced to pay jizya (tax historically levied on dhimmis, that is, protected non-Muslim subjects of a state governed by Islamic law), citing numerous quotations from Islamic literature to support his claims.

  5. The only reason Hanafis gave Hindus temporary “people of the book”-like protections is that there were too many Hindus to kill – or convert. In Pakistan and Bangladesh, they’ve been a lot less shy about killing or converting

  6. I hope Abu Najm Fernado will be perfectly happy if he is given the only option of “Sword or Convert to Christianity ” in USA & same way all Muslims of India are given the choice of “Convert to Hinduism or Die”. If that is not true, Sh** the F*** Up.

    You misrepresented me almost exactly 10 yeats ago as well. Back then, you had a modicum of decency and retracted the lie in your article.

    • Hello, Abu Najm! Good to hear from you. Unfortunately, you loom larger in your own mind than in mine; you claim we had some contact ten years ago, but I have no recollection of ever hearing of you before I saw the OpIndia article excerpted here. In any case, as what you say in it reflects standard Islamic doctrine regarding Hindus, I find it extraordinarily hard to believe that it contains any actual lies. Why don’t you specify what exactly you claim is false in it, and I’ll proceed accordingly. If it is indeed false, I’ll be happy to include your statement to that effect or take the whole article down, as circumstances may warrant. You might, however, want to be extremely careful in specifying these alleged lies, for if you deny that you believe the central points that you’re quoted as making in this article, you may risk being accused of having become a hypocrite or even an apostate. And you well know what that could mean for you. Tread lightly!

      • Also, Abu Najm, I wrote the comment above without reviewing the article in question; looking over it again now, I see that it’s made up largely of your own X posts. Do you deny making those posts? Are they forgeries?

    • ALL countries in the world should be secular and egalitarian. ANY religion (including Islam) is OPINION, and NOT incontrovertible fact!

      Moreover, if a Muslim claims that the Gospels (Christian New Testament) and the Tanakh (Torah) have been corrupted, then this contradicts the Quran, because the Quran states that God’s word CANNOT be corrupted.

      (Remember, Islam affirms that God’s word is not just the Quran and the Hadith, but also the Gospels, tge Torah and the Psalms).

      There is also the emphatic Quranic verse, “There shall be no compulsion in religion!”

      Therefore, Islam does NOT trump Christianity or Judaism, and Muslims should treat all-Muslims (including Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs and others) as equals, including in a Muslim-majority state!

    • Mr. Najam, Are you willing to be a second class citizen under a Christian USA and are you OK with All Indian Muslims to be forcibily converted to Hinduism. If not learn to live in peace with other religions and not according to some 6 th century pevert`s rule. If you want to live according to his rule migrate to places like Afghanisthan or Syria or Iraq where you will probably get knocked off by another sect of your own peverts.
