In 2020, Sweden’s former Prime Minister Stefan Lofven finally admitted a connection between mass migration and crime, as Muslim migrant gangs terrorized the streets of Stockholm — which experienced a surge of bombings and murders. Last year, Sweden’s prime minister Ulf Kristersson vowed to change Sweden’s migration policy to the “EU’s strictest” amid soaring violent crime. “Almost all 5,000 gang members” in Sweden are migrants, and their number is threatening to rise without state intervention.
Last year, Hizballah leader Nasrallah was brazen enough to threaten that if the Swedish government continued on the path of allowing the burning the Qur’an, “it will be a country at war with Islam.”
In November, Sweden and four other Nordic nations agreed to collaborate on shared deportation flights to expel illegals who had asylum claims rejected back to their homelands.
Michele LeVoy of the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants states below that Sweden’s newly proposed “snitch law” is “utterly inhumane.” Like many other Western nations, Sweden is in crisis. Illegal entry into a country should not have been tolerated in the first place. The mass influx of illegal migrants has brought Sweden to the place where drastic measures are now deemed necessary to save the country. It was a crisis that (as usual) leftist governance created.
“Sweden’s proposed ‘snitch law’ against immigrants creates stir and concern,” WION, August 11, 2024:
There is furore in Sweden over the proposed ‘snitch law’ that would force public sector workers to report undocumented people to authorities. The proposed law is part of a 2022 agreement between four Swedish political parties that paved the way for a coalition government in Stockholm’s corridors of power.
Nearly two years after the Sweden Democrats were voted in as Sweden’s second-biggest party, work is underway to turn the proposal into law.
A committee has been formed by the government to present proposals on how this could be drafted into law. The committee could potentially present its findings to the government by the end of November.
What does it mean?
If implemented as law, the idea could result in up to a million workers, from dentists to teachers, being forced to report any contact with undocumented patients, students, and authorities, and has faced widespread opposition from rights campaigners and professional associations.
“This proposal is utterly inhumane,” Michele LeVoy of the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants, was quoted as saying by The Guardian.
“People will be, in a sense, terrified. Why would anyone want to go somewhere when they know that the main thing that will happen is not that they can get care, not that they can go to school, not that they can go to the library – they’ll just be turned in.”…

It’s the enablers who need to be dealt with first! They are the true enemies !!

Exactly… in our case, it’s our “Border Czar” who let us all down… hope people realize that! How many drug overdoses and deaths COULD have been prevented if she did HER job here in the USA and didn’t have an open border? Heck… maybe if she just WENT to the border just ONCE to actually see it with her own eyes in the last 3 12 years….
PRCS says
Well, she did go to the border.
Albeit, of course, not to a location that made the issue clear to the American public.

That is exactly the point.

Perhaps some will even self-deport once they know the law is on the lookout. People who requested asylum but then return to the countries every year for vacation or to marry off an underage girl, should not be allowed back in. If an illegal is caught committing a crime, jail him, and deport the entire family for rearing a moron. Failure to assimilate. Swedes need to feel safe again walking down their own streets.
PRCS says
BTeboe,
“If an illegal is caught committing a crime, jail him, and deport the entire family for rearing a moron.”
1. They should be subjected to our legal system’s process–not just be sent to jail (arrest, charge, ajudication, determination of guilt/innocence, and then sentencing if warranted).
2. The family should be subjected to the same legal process–if warranted. But arbitrarily deporting an entire family for raising a moron…..

IMO, if an illegal commits a crime, depending on the crime, deport him after flagging his original country of the crime he’s committed, so that his original country can decide whether he needs to be jailed or not. For instance, if he rapes a woman, it might mean jail time in Sweden but skating in Pakistan, in which case, he’s deported to Pakistan, which doesn’t see the necessity of jailing him, since rape of a non-muslimah by a muslim is perfectly normal in their view

The article quoted in this article uses the word ‘furore’. This is Italian and means ‘great success’, ‘a hit’. But it comes from the original Latin word ‘furor’, ‘rage’, and this is the meaning which was intended. Sorry, I know I’m a wise guy!

Kamala went to the border and further south, to coordinate all the NGOs and cartels to increase their efficiency moving illegals north bound.
Please prove me wrong!

Kamala went further south of the border to vacation. She could not organize a lemon aid stand .The cartels are working with our communist run HLS headed by that bald headed toad who should be hung for treason in my opinion. HLS is pushing catch and release transporting them to other cities away from the border states and bring lawfare against states that try to police the border with their own resources like Texas is doing.

it is stunning to see a government apparently beginning to deal with reality. Is this a trend?

This is the most humaine way to handle the destruction of Sweeden by illegal violent gangs. It is the first step to let these thugs learn their barbarism will not be tolerated. If they want to stay in beautiful Sweeden, they must obey the laws of Sweden or be deported. If this is inconvenient, it is too bad for them. They are illegal and comitting horrible crimes against those who live and work for the common good.

Looks as if they (Swedish legal system) are trying to pass the onus onto individuals. Follow the laws of the land, or take the (and make it legal, not sending -for example- to cultural differences classes, send them to jail. Deport) consequences. Simple.

Since I hate Minnesota’s snitch laws that Gov Walz instituted, I am a tad conflicted about supporting this one. Except that it’s different in that people are being asked to discretely (or not) report crimes: someone who’s in any country illegally, even if s/he’s not breaking other laws, is guilty of other crimes
I disagree that Sweden is passing the onus onto their citizens. Law enforcement is still responsible for arresting & deporting the illegals, but all they are doing here is asking citizens to tip them if someone they encounter is illegal. No different from asking citizens to report other crimes that they witness such as a mugging
OLD GUY says
If you rob a bank and I report you is that against some snitch law. No different than notifying authorities of a person who is ILLEGALLY in the country. Both are a CRIME.
