“Pope Francis says refusing aid to migrants a ‘grave sin,'” Reuters, August 28, 2024:

Pope Francis on Wednesday strongly decried the treatment of migrants crossing the Mediterranean Sea to enter Europe, saying it was a “grave sin” not to offer aid to migrant vessels.

“There are those who work systematically and with every means to reject migrants,” the pontiff said during his weekly general audience in St. Peter’s Square.

“And this, when done with conscience and responsibility, is a grave sin,” he said.

The pope has spoken frequently about the treatment of migrants over his 11-year papacy. But his words on Wednesday, invoking Catholic terminology for one of the worst kinds of sin, were especially strong….

Francis on Wednesday called for expanding access routes for migrants and a “global governance of migration based on justice, brotherhood and solidarity.”The pope said the issue would not be resolved through the “militarization of borders.”

In recent weeks, the pope had been offering a series of reflections about Catholic spiritual matters in his weekly audiences.

At the beginning of Wednesday’s remarks, the pope said he was postponing that series this week, to consider “people who are crossing seas and deserts to find a place where they can live in peace and security.”…

        • When it comes to the Current Idiot Pope and the bought and paid for cardinals I think God needs to use CAPITAL LETTERS for that passage. I like most liked him when he was first appointed but it was soon clear that he was chosen as the one the cardinals thought they had the most sway over. Catholics world wide need to stop their gifts immediately and start working to either replace Papa and all of the Cardinals or Start the Holy, None Roman, Catholic religion.

      • Unfortunately it seems,much of our society as a whole seem to have done the same. It’s like they just accept certain ‘things'(you know what/who I am referring to I am sure) without even questioning or thinking deeper. The future of society as we have it now does not look good,in my opinion.

    The people this Argentinian wants others to help would slice and dice him to pieces, as they are doing to those with whom they actually come into contact.

    Jesus warned His disciples to “watch out for the false shepherds” calling them “wolves in sheep’s clothing” and telling us that they are out to “devour” Christians.
    Jesus said of people like this self-righteous know-nothing, “A rotten tree produces rotten fruit.”
    The ‘pope’ produces only “rotten fruit” and by this we can “recognize” him for being a “rotten tree.”

    Any Christian who values his relationship with Christ, will avoid listening to this liar, troublemaker, false shepherd, wolf in sheep’s clothing. Avoid consuming his “rotten fruit.”

  3. Only God can decide what is a “sin” and any level of the “gravity” of a “sin.” It is not in the authority of this lying wolf to declare something a sin, whether ‘grave’ or not.

If the migrants are moving from Africa and Asia to Europe for the deliberate purpose of remaking the continent culture, religious diversity, education, legal system, etc., etc. why should they be singled out for support? If an individual or family is attempting to move because of the political or economic situation in their home location, wouldn’t they be better served by changing their home circumstances? Can the world afford the expense and tragedy of some large percentage of the globe’s population moving?

    • People across the U.S. move a lot. Many move because they live in a bad neighborhood, some because of employment, cheaper or nicer housing, some to be nearer relatives. But few, with the exception of democrats who wish to upset the Red states with their blueness and turn them blue, move to change the whole society.
      I find nothing wrong with a family from some other nation applying to come here for a ‘better life.’
      It’s the ones who come with the purpose of making my family and friends worse off than they are now. with whom I have a problem.
      In the past, it was people from South America who came and then began to demand everything be done with them in mind, saying, “In my country, blah, blah.”. I felt they could learn English or just go back home.
      Now, it’s mozlums from all over the world coming for the sole purpose to enslave us all to their false god and fake prophet or kill us for not bowing down to them and their islam evil.

      The people coming now are not applying, asking to be allowed in, they are just coming and demanding to be allowed in….so they can murder us.

    Ceaser has the obligation to protect his people and stop any who would do harm to the citizens.

    Poland and Greece are fighting hard to keep the Muslims out. They need to stay alert to keep themselves safe. Should the surrounding countries fall, they will not be able to stop the terrorists’ hordes.

  15. It seems Pope Francis and the vatican missed Matthew 18 v 6 -7 the grave consequences about causing people to lose faith in Him.But then francis thinks hell is a mysterious “state of annihilation”,a concept so nebulous that onlya Jesuit could invent it.
    For the record ,I do admire Archbishop Vigano{ludicrously excommunicated!} and those French trad catholics keeping their faith in spite of francis and the ecclesiastical freemasons {“the smoke of satan”club if you like}doing their best to stop them.
    The Catholic Faith is not the catholic church administration.I laughed when I first saw Bergoglio had chosen the name francis.Like a luciferian joke.

    The Pope needs to know that one of the targets to these Muslims terrorist’s illegal migrants is to invade the Vatican and kidnap the Pope of Rome.

    After the Muslims terrorist migrants invade the Vatican, they will offer to the Pope of Rome to convert to Islam. If the Pope refuse, to converts to Islam the devilish religion they will kill the Pope.

      Christians have the commandment from Christ to ‘preach the good news.’

    These days the whole world resounds Ro 8:36,

    You don’t care when Christians are slaughtered in churches in Europe, and when Christian villagers are slaughtered every day in Pakistan, in Nigeria and in other African countries. At least this fact has never made you raise your voice of righteousness!

Those poor poor migrants are overwhelmingly young fit fighting age males from v diff cultures dare I say it largely Muslim – they are not our friends nor do they need our help, and we should repel them as Europe has done previously.
