It is not a surprise that TV stations are rehabilitating Zainab Chaudry of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). But it is dismaying to see exactly how it is being done, here and here.
Two Maryland TV stations, WJZ and WBAL, reported on Chaudry being forced off the Maryland Commission on Hate Crime Response and Prevention for indulging in quite a bit of “hate” herself. But now the TV stations elide over her episode of hate on Facebook as if it were unimportant. Actually, it was the reason she was removed from the Commission, and why she is still not a part of it.
Instead, the stations let Chaudry impugn the Commission by saying that it did not treat her fairly, and would censor her for unapologetically advocating for her communities.
This became the point where the TV reporters pivoted to Chaudry’s press conference that claimed that hate crimes and bias incidents against Muslims and Arabs have risen dramatically.
It would be hard for the TV station to give sympathetic coverage to CAIR’s press conference if they reminded the audience that there was a considerable effort made to remove her from the Commission for engaging in hate speech against Israel on her Facebook page.
So by ignoring her bigoted behavior, we wind up at CAIR’s press conference.
The WBAL broadcast has someone named Malak Kamel saying at the CAIR’s presser that counter protestors were blocking the entrance of a mosque while threatening Muslims. Well, where is that story? Why isn’t the station covering that story?
Is Ms. Kamel confusing her story with the one about pro-Palestinian protestors blocking a synagogue in Los Angeles and beating Jews in the street? This was denounced by both the mayor and the governor, but CAIR got on TV twice to side with the attackers. There are no reports of pro-Israel protesters attacking Muslims outside a mosque.
No effort is made to fact-check CAIR’s claims of a huge spike in anti-Muslim hate crimes by verifying them with local police or the FBI. Yet both WJZ, and WBAL report that CAIR will use its data to influence future legislation. Again, no mention that this is a Hamas support group.
The rehabilitation of Zainab Chaudry shown here is one of the starkest examples of TV stations protecting and promoting CAIR, as well as facilitating in CAIR’s attacks.

Muslims come to the USA from countries where Muslims normally get their way at the expense of non Muslims. When they get caught trying to do that in the USA, and fail, they vehemently complain.
