Lebanese filmmaker and writer Youssef El-Khoury said in an August 8, 2024 interview with Lebanon On (YouTube) that Lebanon has been destroyed for the sake of a “fake cause,” because there has never been a Palestinian entity. He asked: “When has this land belonged to Palestine?” El-Khoury said that Hamas is a criminal and terrorist organization and the reason that there are so many civilian casualties in Gaza is because Hamas fighters are hiding underground and letting their people die. He added that appointing Sinwar as the leader of Hamas exposes it as an organization that does not want peace and does not care about its people.
El-Khoury said that Nasrallah should shut up and that maybe this could save Lebanon. He said that Nasrallah should be ashamed of himself and that he pollutes the Lebanese mind, history, and heritage. El-Khoury added that he is a “Hitler type” following the model of Nero, Mussolini, and Hirohito, who let their countries be destroyed before they surrendered.
It is worth noting that at the end of the interview, the host qualified that he and LebanonOn are not responsible for the views of the guests on the platform.

Reading Surah 17 about the “Children of Israel” would not bring its supposed believers around to any truth or justic, neither of which are to be found there.

Odd that all of the leading tafsir (authoritative interpretations) of the Quran were written, not in the heart of the alleged Hijaz “holy land” but in the peripheries if the Islamic world: Iran, Bukhara, not by native Arab speakers but by non-Arab converts who guessed wildly at the meanings of obscure words rather than admit they did not understand them.
Before 1948 Surah 17 was titled “Al Bani Isra’il” but following the establishment of the hated State of Israel they shortened the name to Surat Al Isra pretending the “Isra” comes from the word for night journey rather than from the name that God bestowed on Jacob.

Wasn’t the word ‘Palestine’ invented by the Roman Emperor Hadrian (?) as a blanket name for that area of the middle east because there was no existing identifiable group established there to give in a political identity – but the Romans still needed a name for it? Syria Palæstina was geographical name given to Judea after the Bar Kokhba revolt (132-136AD). In the centuries to come geographical areas were added and subtracted. As has been pointed out many times Palestine refers to a Geographical area. In Roman times it was depopulated and became a Rome province and settlement. Even in the 2nd Century AD Greek was the language spoken in the area, Latin was a secondary language which you spoke if you worked for the Romans.

Normally, people would looking at a map of the entire region, sympathize w/ the Israeli David against the Arab Goliath, which extended from Mauritania to Iraq, and from Syria to Somalia. The Soviets rebranded the Arabs who lived in Judea, Samaria and Gaza as “Palestinians”, and the rest is history
Functionally, the best result would be either returning those Arab parts of Judea/Samaria, where Israel doesn’t have any jurisdiction, to Jordan, like it was before 1967, and return Gaza to Egypt. The Israelis would have their win in that it would be semi-hostile regimes in Amman & Cairo running those people, rather than Hamas or Fatah. For the Arabs, they’d be ruled by Arab entities, and would be no worse off than people in Aqaba or Alexandria

Although as foretold in scriptures re the scattering of Jews from Israel, some have always remained there , in Jerusalem in particular. It was allowed to become a malaria ridden swamp until 1947 when Jews from Europe poured back in and made it bloom and blossom again. Indolence is not a Jewish characteristic.

Yes these are known as the Mizrahi Jews, Oriental Jews. These are Jewish people who never left Judea. Sadly they were treated like crap by the Zionist movement Jews coming from Europe who started to move into the area after WW1, and especially right after WW2 and the foundation of the State of Israel. Thankfully this was changed in the 1960’s Mizaha Jews located in the Middle east, and Africa started to be relocated to Israel. The most interesting to me are the Lemba “Black Jews” of southern Africa. They are Bantu speaking but practice an arcadic form of Judaism. Genetic testing indicated they were 40% black African and the rest was not, and while a sold Jewish connection could not be confirmed the genome did not rule it out.

He is right. Also historically, the only reason Lebanon exists is to be the native home of indigenous Phoenician non-muslims – Maronites, Melki’ites and others. Otherwise, there is no reason for it to be separate from Syria
