Having seen at least 17,000 of its operatives killed by the IDF — more than half of its prewar numbers, with many more wounded, had several hundred of its tunnels destroyed, and watched helplessly as much of its weaponry was seized or destroyed by the IDF, Hamas wanted to remind the world that it was not yet spent as a fighting force, and could still launch long-range rockets in the direction of Israel. Hamas attempted to fire two rockets at Tel Aviv and central Israel on Tuesday, but failed with one of them landing in the Mediterranean Sea and one of them failing to even leave the Gaza Strip.
Citizens in Tel Aviv and other parts of central Israel heard sounds of explosions, initially creating confusion until the IDF clarified the situation.
According to the IDF, the rocket which landed in the Sea was immediately detected, but the IDF did not activate any alarms because it was apparent from the start that its entire trajectory was flying only over the Sea.
Neither of the “two M90 missiles” fired by Hamas at Israel managed to land in the Jewish state. One of them, according to the IDF, instead of landing in Israel, overshot its mark and fell harmlessly into the Mediterranean.
Likewise, no siren was sounded for the second detected rocket because it did not cross into Israeli territory.
Shortly after the rockets were fired, Hamas claimed responsibility and tried to spin the failed rocket attack into a success….
The second missile did not make it out of Gaza into Israeli territory, but fell in the Strip. Hamas, of course did not mention that both of the M90 missiles failed to land in Israel — the first one overshooting land and falling into the Mediterranean, and the second undershooting, and landing in Gaza itself.
If the second missile had caused damage to structures in Gaza, or harmed people, Hamas would not have “claimed responsibility.” Instead a Hamas spokesman, Abu Obeida, said only that Hamas had “bombarded” Tel Aviv — the verb implies a multiplicity of weapons — without going into detail, hoping the world would believe that the two M90 missiles landed successfully and did damage to Israel, whatever the Israelis claimed. And now that the Israelis have said that one missile landed in the Mediterranean and the other in Gaza itself, Hamas could in response say the following: “Those Jews lie. Both of our long-range M90 missiles successfully hit their targets near Tel Aviv, causing great damage to an IDF missile warehouse, as well as wounding an undetermined number of the IDF’s soldiers. Our enemy clams that Hamas is on its last legs; we’ve just shown the world we are still here, and still able to cause great damage to the Zionist entity.”
The mainstream media will repeat that claim by Hamas. And many who have been conditioned to believe that Israel lies, and Hamas tells the truth, will accept that absurd version.

(Of course, if Hamas really do wish to “claim responsibility” for damage done to Gaza – they could start by admitting that they fired a rocket into a Gazan hospital – and then take responsibility for every death that has occurred on both sides before or since.)

What a miserable bunch of Jihadists they are. This is what makes them happy. Not providing for their people but nurturing the notion of being able to terrorize infidels. This is what makes Islam such a losing proposition and what the west should learn and be able to understand. That the massacres of Oct 7th make the Jihadists scream genocide instead of a deep shame at the perfidy of their massacring civilians with barbaric mutilation etc, should be forced down their throats until the world sees that this is the reality of the Jihad of Islam.
