Telegram founder Pavel Durov’s arrest in France is causing global turbulence, which attests to the importance of his platform. Inarguably, Telegram has a sprawling global reach, boasting of some 950 million users. Protests across the political spectrum in Russia (where Durov was born) threaten a “far reaching impact.” And in France, although judges reportedly hate Durov, President Emmanuel Macron is a supporter and avid user.
Peculiar about Telegram is that it has supporters on both the left and the right. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy uses Telegram. It’s also Russia’s most popular messaging platform. Israel Defense Forces has a Telegram channel, and so does Hizballah.
The platform in a nutshell: it “provides both the means for communication and exchange as well as the protection of encryption that makes crimes harder to track and tackle than ever before.” But that same protection also enables people to resist authoritarian governments that seek to prevent dissent or protest.
As for the character himself, Telegram founder Pavel Durov is gaining as much media attention as his platform, which is said now to be “hanging in the balance.” CNN has called him “a Russian Elon Musk with 100 biological children.” His answer to being arrested is that he has “nothing to hide,” and that it is “absurd to claim that a platform or its owner are responsible for abuse of that platform.” Although born in Russia, Durov is a citizen of “the UAE, France, Russia, and the Caribbean island nation of St Kitts and Nevis.” And the UAE is looking out for him. It “submitted a request to the French government to provide him with all consular services urgently,” as it puts care for its citizens as “top priority.”

It would be like holding the phone company is responsible for crime because criminals plan their crime over phone calls Having a platform does not you responsible for people using it for crime to plan crime. If a crime is plan by sending information threw mailed letters is the post office responsible for the crime? If terrorist in the middle east like to use Toyota trucks as transportation in doing jihad is Toyota responsible in some measure for the crime? That is the logic they used to arrest this man .

Letters and phone calls needed a court order in American before 911 for authorities to listen in or be read by Authorities enforcing the law.

Now they do not just want to read or listen in they want to shut down communication between individuals because they might disagree against what the government wants to do. All for your own “safety” or because it might “hurt” some protected groups feelings. If people cannot discuss different ideas ,or opinions ,or air problems in society openly all they have left is violence or obey their rulers blindly out of fear.To me it looks like the elite want to spark violence between groups so they can clamp down on everyones freedoms .

This is a warning shot from the deep state globalists they will be going after anyone who allows something that isn’t the official narrative. They will be going after Elon Musk next. Sheer tyranny.

Yes Europe will become a no go zone for bloggers ,or anyone who uses the web to express un-authorized opinions against government policies .We could be entering a new dark ages of government witch trials ,freezing and stealing personal wealth in name of fines. Blocking movement of people who are not complaint or complain too much .Social credit scores on a persons behavior or beliefs curtailing their abilities to buy some goods or services. government permission to buy or sell goods ,to where to live ,to reproduce ,to marry all for “the greater good of society.”! I think Canada is on the way to this system ,invented or created crisis to invoke emergency government measures “for the greater good” of all citizens !.

Glenn Beck had a guest on his show speaking about the attacks on freedom expression/speech and mention was made of a man who has been imprisoned for two years for having a bumper sticker on his car, regarding White people. Pro White, not the ‘every White is racist and privileged,’ but that we have rights.
