The power of propaganda.
“‘Enough is enough’: Hundreds of Palestinian supporters rally on Parliament Hill,” by Bruce Deachman, Ottawa Citizen, August 10, 2024 (thanks to the Geller Report):
With chants of, “We are the people, we won’t be silenced,” and, “Stop the bombing, now, now, now, now,” hundreds of people took part in a pro-Palestinian “300+ Days of Rage” march and rally on Parliament Hill on Saturday afternoon, demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.
Mohammed William, who bused to Ottawa from Toronto, said he was taking part to urge the Canadian government to pressure Israel into ending its attacks in Gaza.
“The Canadian government has already sent $28 million in weapons and weapons components to Israel, and is turning a blind eye to the genocide, and we’re here to see an end to the genocide and a lifting of the siege on the Gaza Strip, as well as the recognition of a Palestinian state and sovereignty, and an immediate arms embargo between Canada and Israel.”
According to Associated Press reporting, Israel’s campaign in Gaza had killed more than 39,790 Palestinians as of Saturday and wounded more than 92,000 others. Those figures, according to AP, are from the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza. The war was triggered by Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack in which militants from Gaza stormed into southern Israel, killing about 1,200 people and abducting 250 others….

It’s interesting that in most of the reports I read about Palestinian deaths they almost all are of women and children. Does Israel have “smart” bombs that only kill women and children? Why are there no males killed in these attacks or if there are they are a comparatively very small number compared to women adn children reported? Do I accept Palestinian accounts of killed? No I do not and the overwhelming number of children and women compared to males is one of the reasons.
Today I read an AP article by Wafan Shurafa and SamyMagdy that said the dead Palestinians killed yesterday were actually “ANTI – HAMAS” people!
The exact wording was ” Hamas and Palestinian activists disputed that ( Israel’s claim that 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants were killed), saying two of the 19 had been killed in earlier strikes and others were known to be civilians or opponents of Hamas”
That is another reason I do not accept their numbers. I have never read or seen any evidence that such people ( opposed to Hamas ) even exist in Gaza.
The truth is that Palestinian civilians are suffering much as did German civilians in WW II for their support of the Nazi regime that began WW II.

One should take anything that HamAss says with a fistful of salt, and not just a grain of salt.
Those casuality figures are likely no more than half of what they cite, based on past untruthful claims, and perhaps far less still.

The Associated Press has joined the duo of NYT and WaPo in supporting Hamas’ reporting …. Sad to lose another ‘news’ source..

If it comes from a muslim/islamic source I don’t believe it, and that includes many of our western news sources.
