It was either to quit the campaign and give all of the money he had raised to hyena woman, or else. The “else” might have been the 25th, or charges of fraud and corruption might be allowed to go forward; or being given a nice ride by hillary or a swim with bo. .

That said, just as there is a minimum age that one can be POTUS or VP – until this cycle, AOC didn’t qualify – there should be a maximum age as well. Maybe it’s 80, maybe it’s 90…. Granted, that people’s mileages may vary on how sharp they are, and what exacerbates it in Biden’s case is that he had two brain aneurysms, from which, from what I’ve heard, one never recovers. However, just doing a shoe-on-the-other-foot test, I do think it’s fair to have a standard age beyond which one can’t continue to be a public official, be it POTUS, Senator, Congressman, Supreme Court justice or anyone else (the last would of course be state law)
On a somewhat related note, since Biden has suddenly discovered the virtues of having term limits for Supreme Court justices, I’d be fine w/ that, if it was applied to Congress and the Bureaucracy as well. Just like POTUS is limited to 2 terms, so should Senators be (12 years) and House members to 6 terms (12 years). Same for administrative officials – no one should have more than 12 years. As for Supreme Court justices, 24 years is reasonable
That way, no branch of government gets people too smart for our own good

All excellent points.
It gets tricky when trying to identify a somewhat arbitrary “maximum age” for a public official. I know that, say, airline pilots cannot be employed after reaching the age of 65, but the skill set required is somewhat different.
After, say 60 years old, the public officials that you have mentioned should have – as a minimum – an annual history and physical exam including a cognitive test which they must pass. And perhaps a hard retirement age of 85 years old.

Oh, and I forgot to add – all of the above people should be periodically subjected to random cognitive tests to affirm that they’re still fully competent for their jobs at any given time
