The establishment media is largely ignoring the wholesale attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh because those attacks fit no media paradigm. The template is that Muslims are always victims. If that is not the case, there’s no news.

Exactly Muslims the favourite of the establishment pimp media are always the victim regardless of the situation.

It may be difficult to know, but how many Hindus there have been murdered and injured thus far, approximately?
If a Hindu mob were to do this to a mosque in India, the international media would pudding their pants over it.

Hindus and Christians share two common bonds: 1) they are both persecuted by Muslims: 2) unlike Islam neither of these two religions has in its theological blueprint the authorization of force to ensure dominance over all of mankind.
Conclusion: Hindus and Christians are natural allies. Whatever differences exist between them should be minimized. Besides, both Hinduism and Christianity are enlightened religions, contra the other one I have already mentioned.
Note to Infidel: I would be interested in your take on my comment here. Also, in a previous post you asked about Governor Shapiro of Pennsylvania since I have resided in said state all my life. Shapiro, as everyone knows by now, was not chosen by Cackling Kamala. He, I think, would have been a better choice than Walz but nonetheless he is a very slippery fellow, albeit clever, and a flip-flopper. He was against a two-state solution but now is; he was for capital punishment but now isn’t; he was for school choice but nixed a bill that would have implemented it in PA. He’s too clever by half and while supported by many in PA he is also very much not liked by many others in PA. He has maneuvered fairly well with the PA state legislature which is controlled by Republicans in the Senate but by one vote by the Democrats in the House. He’s not Far Left but he’s still Left enough. And I see where just today Senator Fetterman came out and approved of Walz as Harris’ choice (so much for Fetterman the moderate) but also said that Shapiro cannot be trusted. Oh yeah, lots of stuff here. Hope you are doing well, Infidel.

Thanks for your response on Shapiro. I still have a good impression of Fetterman given the courage w/ which he stood up for Israel. Unlike Shapiro, who came out w/ a grovelling statement apologizing for something he said when he was 20, which actually happened to be very prescient and insightful. My respect for him nosedived when he said that: to complete his humiliation, he didn’t even get the nomination for which he was prepared to sell his core beliefs. The only thing more embarrassing would have been him converting to islam, I suppose
On your question, Hindus & Christians could have been natural allies had it not been for a combination of history and current realities in India, although not the West. The original Nestorian Christians in Calicut and Cochin – the St Thomas followers – got on w/ their Hindu neighbors fine. But in the 15th century, when the Portugese came to India, the small bit of India they could get their hands on – Goa, Daman and Diu, they persecuted the Hindus. They had an inquisition in Goa, patterned after the Spanish Inquisition (since Spain & Portugal were both under Phillip II after 1580), persecuted Hindus, even going after them at home just in case they practiced Christianity publicly but Hinduism privately – something even jihadists didn’t do. The Portuguese even damaged an ancient Hindu cave temple on an island off Bombay called Elephanta, which had the statue of an Elephant on its entrance
Then came the Brits, and one reason they are resented to this day, other than your good ole garden variety colonization, is that they destroyed several Hindu kingdoms that were just recovering in the aftermath of the end of the Mughal empire, destroyed the one Sikh kingdom that ever existed in Punjab, and ended up empowering the Afghans.
As I have argued in the past, when the houses of Hannover and Romanov had their face-offs in Central Asia during the “Great Game”, the end result was the Russians dismantling historical jihadist states like Samarqand and Buqhara, while the Brits destroyed a Sikh state and empowered Afghanistan once again, which looked like starting to crumble like its northern neighbors in Turkistan. Based on this, just looking from outside Christianity, I’m tempted to conclude that Eastern Orthodox entities had a better idea of how to handle islam than Protestant ones (Russia vs Britain)
The result of that is that while Hindus in the West have a favorable opinion of Christians, ones in India don’t. Due to a combination of the above history, as well as missionary activity. Christian missionaries in India – generally a combination of Pentacostal and Baptist, from what I have gathered as far as sect breakdown goes. The biggest issue that Hindus have w/ these missionaries are the first 2 commandments – there being only 1 deity, and the ban on idols. There was an article in OpIndia a while ago about how some Hindus noted that while Hindus were happy to add Jesus Christ to the suite of deities that we have, the biggest issue was the Christian demand that Hindus stop worshiping other deities. Which is why whenever a Hindu hears a Christian talking about “false Gods”, it’s triggering, given that history
On top of that, in India, historically, Christians had tended to side w/ muslims against Hindus, believing that the former was Abrahamic and the latter wasn’t. For instance, when the Brits were trying to decide whether Lahore goes to India or Pakistan in 1947, the major Christian representative at the table voted for Pakistan, and that’s how it ended up there, I daresay a decision they must have regretted. The end result is Hindus having a very dim view of Abrahamic faiths due both the first 2 commandments in theory, and the ground alliance in India of Christians w/ muslims – even though Christians are treated no better than Hindus in either Pakistan or Bangladesh. If split b/w the sects, Hindus in India (not talking about those of us in the West) generally have a more positive attitude towards Russian Orthodox but less towards Protestant or Catholic faiths
Somewhat surprisingly, the one Abrahamic religion that the Hindus have no beef w/ (pun not intended) is Judaism. So whereas a lot of Hindus tend to be ambivalent in Christian vs muslim face-offs, Hindus do generally have a consensus when it comes to Jews, and are the one group that has one of the highest positive opinions of Jews. That’s why there has been a lot of support to Israel since October last year and even before, even though the Modi regime has been groveling before jihadist countries like Qatar and Turkey, and has voted consistently against Israel at the UN and refused to designate Hamas a terrorist organization
IMO, HIndus would have got along a lot better w/ Christians if the latter had a record of actively opposing islam, the way Israel seems to have done

On a different note, given your description of Josh Shapiro, he sounds like a throwback to Bill Clinton. Who would say or do anything to get elected. I was half hopeful that he might be a (John) Kennedy, but apparently not
