I’ve been listening to these two gentlemen for years and appreciate their deep knowledge of Islam and the history of Islam. They are true experts on Islam and probably know a lot more than most Islamic preachers. I have a question for them: What is the future of Islam? is reform possible or are we doomed to face terrorist atrocities for decades?

I think they have addressed this. Reform is not possible b’cos of the qur’an being the perfect book, allah’s word being the last word, Muhammad being the last prophet and the historic “gates of ijtehad” being closed. Only solution is more and more people apostatizing from islam, until their numbers implode. This is on the muslim side, in muslim lands. Elsewhere, they both support minimizing muslim immigration to non-muslim lands, and non-muslims getting up to speed on islam – essentially, the same wavelength as us, if not these 2
