Even though I never have beef, somehow I have never preferred the chicken-only franchises, be it KFC, Chick-fil-A or Popeyes. I have had KFC only b’cos my relatives do, although that’s not in Canada. Had I been there, I’d avoid KFC like the plague

The chickens are supposed to be slaughtered halal style, which may not otherwise differ much from shibboleth, but there are a few more conditions:
➤ The slaughter must be done by a muslim
➤ Some islamic prayer/slogan must be chanted while doing it
In other words, no part of the halal process can be contaminated by an infidel. So the usage of halal food ensures that only Muslims can participate in its production
Sikhs, who are one of Comrade Justin’s key voter base, are explicitly required not to consume halal food. While Hindus have no such rules, since Hinduism preceded islam, a lot of Hindus – at least those aware of the islamic threat, avoid halal as well. As a result, from a business POV, KFC is just telling a lot of people who won’t eat halal food, be it for religious or other ethical reasons, to just piss up a rope

Harland Sanders is certainly rolling over in his grave. Anyone who has ever lived on a farm understands that animals must be killed but in the least hurtful way possible. I remember when my grandmother killed my pet chicken, Chiky, for dinner, I was angry and sad but she told me that she tried to make sure that Chiky did not suffer. She would grab a chicken by the neck and spin the poor thing and in less than a second the little one, although not so little as chickens go, was ready for plucking. I can only imagine how the inbred degenerates kill the poor things and Sanders being a southern raised fellow, I am sure that this would not be permitted were he still alive.
Since KFC had been profitable before the arrival of the inbred monsters, I do not understand why the franchise leadership permitted this act of demonic proportions to occur. From this moment forward, I shall never stop, much less purchase anything, at a KFC.

Ray, your comment is right on target. My mom would wring the chicken’s neck so quick. It was the way of all Southern people. That old “chicken with its head chopped off” and still able to run around the yard was a terrifying thought.
Sorry about your Chiky. Long years ago, I read a book called, “A Day No Pigs Would Die.” It was a tearjerker for the same reason your story is sad.

Thanks for the kind words Somehistory. Lamentably, I also witness a few old hens running around with their heads cut off and I still feel bad for the poor things. I guess being a pig can be a blessing in that inbreds don’t eat pork so they are spared the trauma of being slaughtered in halal fashion.
One good thing about growing up on a farm, especially a very young person, as it provides the opportunity to understand birth, watching mothers care for their offsprings and death. I think that children fail to benefit from life experiences of a farm and how families have to work together, both physically and psychologically, which makes them care for others even more.

I agree, Ray. Growing up on a farm, with chickens, hogs, horses, cows, etc., I learned that each life has value and some are very short in duration.
We learned to appreciate what each had to offer us, and to give back to those we could.
Most people never see life as a person raised on a farm sees it.
