A Swiss Miss hailing from the Bernese Oberland, one Judith Schenk, eine blondine all dirndl and possible pigtails, with facial features reminiscent of Miss Piggy, thought so well of a recent Instagram post that she sent it on to others. She’s a leftist, a socialist, so you can imagine she’s not fond of that nasty little Sparta, the Jewish state of Israel, that is always causing such trouble in the world. The Instagram post she sent urbi et orbi claimed that Jews themselves caused antisemitism because of their truly awful behavior; in fact, Schenk added her own comment, that, Jews were “cursed child killers.” If you missed the controversy a few weeks ago, it’s worth catching up on, as the attitudes Schenk displayed are very much still with us. A councillor in the Swiss city of Bern faced strong criticism on Friday after she shared an Instagram post with a comment blaming Jews for rising antisemitism and defaming Israelis as “child killers.”
Judith Schenk, a socialist deputy on the Bern city council, was pushing an article from the Qatar-funded news outlet Al Jazeera which quoted an Israeli government official calling on Israeli forces to enter Rafah, the city in southern Gaza where Hamas terrorists have regrouped.
“No. You must respect the ceasefire ordered by the UN Security Council,” Schenk wrote. “Cursed child killers, you harm Jews around the world.”
“Cursed child killers.” Now where have we heard that before? Yes, in the good old Middle Ages, with Little St. William of Norwich, in 1144, and Little St. Hugh of Lincoln in 1255. These were two Christian boys found dead, and their deaths were blamed on Jews who were accused of having killed them in order to use their blood in the making of matzos. That is what has entered history as the “Blood Libel.” Pogroms followed.
Schenk’s use of language led critics to point out that the allegation that Jews kill children is an outgrowth of the medieval blood libel which falsely asserted that Jews use the blood of Christian children in their religious rituals.
Never Again is Now (NAIN) — a Swiss NGO devoted to combating antisemitism — responded with condemnation. “We would not have believed that such a statement is possible in the 21st century,” the group said in a statement.
Really? When much of the known world has shown itself so ready to accuse Israel of “genocide”? When it comes to antisemitism, that pathological condition neither dies nor fades away; it’s always being spread somewhere among the weak-minded, and all the haters have to do is find an excuse to turn on the tap.
In a statement to the Swiss news outlet 20 minutes, Schenk’s socialist colleagues on the council distanced themselves from her words.
“It is clear that antisemitism has no place in our society. We do not tolerate it, neither inside nor outside the party,” the statement said.
You don’t “tolerate” antisemitism? Well then, what do you intend to do about Fraulein Schenk? Will her apology be enough to get her off the hook, or will there be real consequences? In the nearly two months since Schenk’s words gained widespread attention, there is no readily available news report stating that anything has been done in response to her at all.
Schenk later apologized for her post, saying that she had been motivated by concern for Palestinian children in Gaza. She said her statement had been addressed to both “the Israeli government and Hamas terrorists and to all those who support the murder and the violence against the civilian population on both sides.”
Oh dear. Ms. Schenk ought simply to have said “I apologize for my remark about ‘child-killers.’ It summons up the antisemitic medieval lunacies, when innocent Jews were murdered after being accused of killing Christian children. I am ashamed.” Full stop. But instead, she made a false equivalence between “the Israeli government and Hamas terrorists,” who are, in her view practicing “violence against the civilian population on both sides.” But they are not equivalent. Hamas terrorists deliberately rape, torture, mutilate and murder Israeli civilians, as they did on October 7, and as they promise to do “again and again and again.” Israel, on the other hand, does everything it can to avoid killing civilians. It wants to minimize civilian casualties, while Hamas tries always to maximize them. The IDF warns civilians (and, unavoidably, Hamas fighters, too) about neighborhoods or buildings about to be targeted, so that they can find safety elsewhere.. In Gaza, the IDF has done this by dropping fourteen million leaflets, sent six million messages, and made four million robocalls. The result is that the IDF has achieved the lowest ratio of civilian-to-combatant deaths — one civilian for ever combatant — in the history of warfare. Does Judith Schenk not realize that Hamas wants more of the children in Gaza to be killed, in order to score propaganda points against Israel? And does she not know about the elaborate warning system that the IDF employs — leafletting, messaging, telephoning — to minimize civilian casualties?
It’s not enough for her fellow socialists to distance themselves from Judith Schenk’s enthusiastic sharing of an Instagram post along with her own comment about Israelis being “child killers.” There have to be consequences. They should ask her to resign from the party. That would be a good start.

Since socialism is only a few seats in many nations away from full blown Communism, Judith Schenk will only retract her statement until she feels safe from retribution but for the party to discipline would also be pure hypocrisy. Take a look at the far left swine now in the UK, Germany, France and Canada as well as the leftist Democrats here in America as one would have to be blind to not see that they are all against Israel and could care less about the Jewish populations in their nations. It is amazing, better yet disgusting, how free nations can and have voted for these anti-Semitic politicians who will put their constituents in chains at their first opportunity to do so as Lenin did to the Russian people.

Hitler was different in that he used state sponsored targeting murder and humiliate Jews. Stalin killed everyone, and eventually Hitler did as well.
The Holocaust resembled the Armenian genocide so closely. This happened after the Ottoman Empire collapsed at the end of WWI. The perpetrators were The Young Turks (supported by Turkey, of course) and then fled to Germany. Germany agreed to take them without charging them. This begs the question of who was commiserating with Hitler dusting that time? There were many Turks and Muslim in Germany at that time, and many of them ended up in Hitlers army and SS.

It’s time to open the archives in England. And if that can’t be done, then shouldn’t this issue be investigated further? I suspect that Hamas is even counting household pets as child victims. The only way you know for sure that their claimed figures are a lie is simply that — they are claiming them.

There’s a video on YouTube about a man who grew up in Gaza. It’s called Arab Palestinian Warns the World about Hamas. It’s on PragerU and his accounts of what goes on there are shocking. I thought I knew most of it, but learned so much. And that’s not the only video from a Palestinian. There’s one that’s from the West Bank that is similar.
As for payment to terror organizations around the world? This administration gives US taxpayer money to every despotic American enemy nation worldwide but focusing on Islamic nations.
