NYC: Muslim family flies Taliban flag outside their home, claims not to have known it was Taliban flag

There is an ambiguity here, as the flag, like that of Saudi Arabia, simply proclaims the Islamic profession of faith, “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.” On the other hand, this is the particular design the Taliban use. It is by means of that ambiguity, and the ignorance of non-Muslims, that support for jihad and Sharia spread in the U.S.

A Muslim family came under fire this week for brazenly hoisting a Taliban flag outside their Brooklyn home – only to remove the terror symbol after being called out by a local pol and grilled about it by The Post.

Councilwoman Inna Vernikov (R-Brooklyn) posted an online video Tuesday showing herself outside a Brighton Beach home and ripping its occupants for displaying what has been the Afghanistan flag since the Taliban seized control of the country in 2021.

“We have terrorist supporters living amongst us,” says Vernikov in the video, which also shows a Palestinian flag flying below the black-and-white Taliban banner outside the Brighton 5th Street home.

However, a 28-year-old man living at the home claimed later Tuesday his family had no idea the flag was connected to the Taliban, which hosted al-Qaeda and its leader, Osama bin-Laden, in Afghanistan in the years leading up to 9/11.

“We’re not behind any agency or any agenda, or nothing like that. We’re normal, average New Yorkers,” said the man, insisting they raised the banner as a profession of faith all Muslims follow.

However, minutes later, the man’s father and another relative removed both flags, claiming they received death threats over the councilwoman’s post. They said flags previously flew for two months without incident….

    • Yeah. That flag may have just been coincident w/ the Taliban flag: the ISIS flag, for instance, is the same, but in “dark mode”: white fonts on a black background. So it could have been that these were just ordinary jihadists, w/ no allegiance to the Taliban or any other foreign group, but just to CAIR

      I watched the Estee Palti interview: have been following her in the last few days. Tucker Carlson interviewed her when he was still at Fox. Since then, she’s really honed her impersonation skills, and IMO, ought to be at Trump rallies ?

      I was fascinated that she said that her parents were Soviets, so her mom warned her about Communists and their thuggish ways. As Charlie Kirk pointed out today, Kamala is a race communist, which is even worse than your garden variety Marxist

        Harmeet Dillon wrote an opinion piece for The Hill, exposing harris for what she is.

        A person would have to be literally blind not to realize what the flags represent. cair is part of the mozlum brotherhood which has been declared by the U.S. government, and several others, as a terrorist group. bo is the mozlum who forced Egypt to have members sit in the front row when he went there to give his first speech as pretend president.

        This mozlum family knows. They also know they can get by with doing what they did.

        I’m not trying to be clever, but is there a difference between an “ordinary jihadist” versus one who has “allegiance to a specific group”?

        They both – broadly – commit the same kind of jihad against infidels.

        • James, I’ll not try to answer for Infidel. But, I believe there is a difference.
          All of the devout mozlums around the world believe Israel/Jews and Christians are their worst enemies, and all have the idea they have the right to murder all whom they can. This makes them all part of the islamic world, the terror organization of islam.

          However, some see that if they form a group, such as bin laden did with al queda, they can call upon other mozlums to help them bring down governments, etc. as obl wanted to do regarding the Russians in Afghanistan.

          Being a part of a smaller, but really active group, makes the rabid mozlum feel more powerful and they may give him monetary and other support.
          Not being part of a designated terror group may, in their minds, be a way to stay off the radar of the authorities, but terror groups still give them extra motivation to do as they want to do.
          that’s my two-cents.

  4. Whether he knew or not, it proves that Taliban is very Islamic just like ISIS, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, As Shabab etc. They all are oppressing women and non muslims, rape women, enslave people, kill and rob people and do other crimes too. That is Islam all about.

  7. Of course, they know and are sure that the flag it’s for Taliban.

    And also, they are sure when they denied they will believe them.

    In time there is no deportation to Afghanistan for them to live under Taliban regime.

    It will be like we put air in a torn tire.

    Yeah…maybe.The mere fact the Taliban uses the Islamic statement of faith should give ordinary Infidels pause. Then, they are also flying the “Palestinian” flag, which should be cause for just as much concern.
