Schneider, who is Jewish, doesn’t have a reputation as a radical Democrat. He’s an organizer of a bipartisan working group planning for “the ‘day after’ in Gaza once Hamas is defeated.” He supports the Abraham Accords, and was scheduled to be in Israel right after October 7 to help build relations between Israel and Muslim countries. After October 7, Schneider stated:
It became very clear very quickly that the future in Gaza depended on Hamas no longer being able to reign terror over Gaza or threaten Israel.
Such views likely had something to do with his being targeted by over 40 pro-Hamas hooligans, who showed up in his quiet neighborhood, outside his house no less, shouting chants, including antisemitic slurs, “using loudspeakers and drums.” “A red liquid that appeared to be some kind of animal blood was poured on the sidewalk.”
The neighbors were described as being “jolted awake.” One resident described the scene: “It was terrifying, it was surreal, both of us were awaken from sleeping.”
The police should have arrested these protesters for mischief and violation of a noise ordinance as they terrorized the neighborhood, not simply disperse them.
The pro-Hamas crowd will continue to escalate and push the envelope, encouraged by the weak response they have encountered, and a weak Biden administration.

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (CBS) — Pro-Palestinian protesters held an overnight demonstration in the wee hours Saturday outside the home U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider (D-Illinois) in Highland Park, prompting noise complaints and alarm from neighbors.
Several neighbors remained on edge Saturday night, particularly as the protesters promised to return. They also wondered why more wasn’t done in response at such an hour.
In a community advisory alert, city officials said that around 2:43 a.m., the dispatch at the City of Highland Park Police Department received about 30 calls for a noise complaint of people shouting in the vicinity of Woodland Road. CBS 2 is told Rep. Schneider was not home at the time of the protest, though other family members were.
The city said officers arrived on the scene within minutes and saw around 40 protesters, carrying banners and shouting “pro-Palestinian and antisemitic chants” using loudspeakers and drums, gathered on the sidewalk. Social media video also documented noisemakers that sounded like sirens.
Schneider’s office said a red liquid that appeared to be some kind of animal blood was poured on the sidewalk.
Officials said officers immediately began de-escalating and dispersing the crowd, following safe management procedures based on the size of the crowd and establishing a perimeter around the protesting group to ensure the safety of neighbors in the area who were outside. Officers also communicated with the event organizer and informed them about city regulations regarding noise and safe assembly.
Around 3 a.m., officers requested additional units to assist with site management and coordinate an immediate and safe dispersal. By 3:15 a.m., all protesters had left the scene……

Rioting, threatening behavior and vandalism at 3AM warrants a pretty strong response. Along the lines of 28 days in jail. For every one of them. FLEE OR RESIST it goes up to 13 months and a felony. They are supporting a terrorist organisation. That should put every one of them on both a terrorist watch list with at least 10 years on a no fly list. People need to learn there are consequences.

This is terrorism, and these terrorists need to be prosecuted to the full extent of terrorism law. They are terrorizing not only an elected government official, but also an entire neighborhood. This is not freedom of assembly, or a redress of grievances.
And since it is terrorism, they also need to be held and interrogated to get to the root of who is organizing and financing this.

As for “organizing and financing,” Glenn Beck did a program on that subject. There is an org run by democrats which is heavily involved in the organizing and financing. Besides the usual *suspects,* this organization is one I had not heard of until I watched, and saw the documented proof of the identify of the organizing funders.
If I understood Beck, the org is something like an ngo but with connections to the gov.

They need to hold a neighbourhood meeting and work out how to deter any future demonstrations of this kind.
One thought is .. dogs. Obtain biiig scary black dogs. Great Danes. Alsatians. Dobermans.
If the thugs turn up again: let them know that they have until a count of 10 to shut up and leave… or the dogs will be turned loose.
Also: how many people in the neighbourhood have lawn sprinklers that they could turn on, simultaneously?
At 3 AM in the morning even in the US summer getting soaked through is surely going to be some kind of deterrent.
PS Surely the cops could have confiscated all the noisemakers. If people have been blowing through something they’ve just put DNA samples all over it, that could be matched against the criminal database…

Further thought: surely these thugs should ALL have been arrested just on the grounds of making excessive – nuisance levels – of noise in a neighbourhood in the small hours?
I thought most local government authorities have rules about how much noise a group of people can make, in a residential area, once it’s after midnight and before dawn when people (including elderly, the sick and frail, and infants) are trying to sleep.
And these people weren’t even residents.
It’s one thing if your next-door neighbours, whom you know, hold a noisy (but happy) party on a special occasion.
It’s another thing when a bunch of total strangers descend on a sleeping neighbourhood and issue threats and make huge, frightening, aggressive noises and bang drums and let loose sirens.
THAT should have been taken as grounds for arresting the lot of them for disturbing the peace! And confiscating ALL their noisemakers, as ‘exhibit A’.
