Meanwhile, Rushdie’s attacker himself says he did it because Rushdie “attacked Islam.” Will the feds ponder the implications of that? Will they try to determine where Matar got the idea, and investigate the extent to which other Muslims might be moved to violence in the same way? Come on, man!

The man accused of trying to kill the author Salman Rushdie has been charged with terrorism for allegedly acting on behalf of Hezbollah, according to documents unsealed Wednesday.
This is the first time the United States has so clearly singled out Lebanon’s Iranian-backed group over the attack on Rushdie.
Hadi Matar, a 26-year-old American of Lebanese descent, was already charged by the state of New York for the 2022 stabbing attack.
He has now been indicted by a grand jury on three counts that include attempting to provide material to support a foreign terrorist organization, according to the indictment dated July 17 but not unsealed until now.
In August 2022 Rushdie, now 77, lost his sight in his right eye after the attack by a knife-wielding assailant who jumped on stage at an arts gathering in New York state. Rushdie was stabbed about 10 times….
“The defendant attempted to carry out a fatwa endorsed by Hezbollah that called for the death of Salman Rushdie,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray….
Matar has told the New York Post newspaper that he had only read two pages of Rushdie’s novel but believed he had “attacked Islam.”…

Any public figure who calls openly for the murder of a writer for what he/she has written and that call to murder is responded to by some crazed person should be put on an arrest warrant by Interpol or the ICC or any International anti-crime organization. Arrested on sight in any country. Issuing a public contract for murder is a criminal offense, especially when that contract is released by a leading political figure of a nation.

Nothing surprises me about the actions of nutters like this muslim anymore however I have wondered how he managed to stab Rushdie 10 times as try that yourself with a doll, stab the Doll TEN times and witness how much time it takes and the actions involved.
Once the dude got on stage holding a knife visibly then how come he wasn’t stopped right away.
Anyways its now in the past and this action, like so many others, can show to the World that a person can read TWO pages of a Book and get so angry that they wish to KILL the Author all in the name of islam should show the Far Left Liberal types today just how tolerant islam is and how uptight these people really are.
