The recently retired former Governor-General of Australia, David Hurley, has fulsome praise of Islam, as was reported on here:
Dr. Jneid said the visit was “historic” and the Islamic community was committed to strengthening “social harmony and build bridges across our society.”
Of course “the Islamic community” is committed to strengthening “social harmony” and to “build bridges” through these interminable interfaith affairs – just as long as it feels itself to be a small minority that needs to ensure that it is fully accepted, and cannot be uprooted, always without giving an inch in its refusal to truly integrate into the larger society of Unbelievers.
Mr. Hurley, who toured the mosque, said he would return to visit the local Islamic school, and spoke of his respect for Islam after living in Malaysia for a year in 1989.
“I learnt a lot about Islam, its people, its tenets, its way of life, in that 12 months. I even was invited to the prayer-calling competition, not to judge, but to learn,” he said.
What did he learn, exactly? David Hurley managed not to learn a great many things. We have already mentioned the misogynistic aspects of Islam that apparently made no impression. He did not notice that the women in the village were kept largely inside, and wore abayas whenever they went outside. Hurley did not hear of Muslim men disciplining their wives by “beating” them (Qur’an 4:34); he failed to understand that the practice of polygyny devalues women, and so does the triple-talaq divorce that makes it so easy for Muslim men, but not women, to shed their spouses. And living in the Malaysian village as the only non-Muslim and white man in it, he would not likely have been informed that Muslim daughters inherited only half that of sons. Nor would he have been told that in Islam, the testimony of a woman is worth only half that of a man. This information would have come to him only had he read the Qur’an and the most relevant (and “authentic”) hadith, which he clearly did not do then, and 30 years later, still has not done.
“And from that time on, I’ve had enormous respect for Islam and its people.” Mr. Hurley said it was important for all Australians to “celebrate our history” and discuss the desires for the next generations in creating a vision for “Australia’s future.”
He had “enormous respect for Islam and its people” by managing to learn so very little about Islam. He had “enormous respect” because he didn’t know that the Qur’an taught Muslims to regard themselves as the “best of peoples” and Unbelievers as “the most vile of created beings.” He didn’t know that Muslims were instructed not to take Christians and Jews as friends. He didn’t find out about the more than one hundred Qur’anic verses that command Muslims to “fight” and to “kill” and to “smite at the necks of” and to “strike terror in the hearts of” Unbelievers. No one told him about these verses. Why would they? Nor would any of those villagers have pointed out to him such sayings of Muhammad as “War is deceit” and “I have been made victorious through terror.” He’s had thirty years since his stay in that Malaysian village to read the Qur’an, to look at the most important Hadith, and to learn something significant about Islam. But clearly, he hasn’t done so.
He might have prudently held back on his praise of Islam during his visit to the mosque. He could have said something like this: “Thirty years ago I spent a year living in a village of Muslim Malays. They treated me with great kindness, which I have never forgotten. Many duties have taken up my attention since then, but at long last I will make sure to read the Qur’an, and to study some of the Hadith, which I am convinced will help me to better understand the real Islam, and not the misogynistic, violent, and anti-Infidel caricature with which we in the West are so often presented.”
The reaction of the Muslims at the mosque to this announcement by David Hurley: outwardly they will be all smiles. But inwardly, they will feel a great anxiety, for there is nothing Muslims fear more than Unbelievers who, in the expectation of being favorably impressed, read the Qur’an and hadith, and discover instead the awful truth.

Former Governor-General of Australia, David Hurley, knows less than nothing about islam.
But, somehow, he likes the “islamic community” because he drinks the Kool-Aid supplied by the local lying muslim “leadership”.
Hurley is either incredibly naïve – or is evil.
If he is naïve, he needs to read Jihad Watch on a daily basis and go back 12 months and read all of the feature articles – and all the comments.
He also needs to read islam 101 available on this website.
Likely a 0% chance that he will do this…

Exactly! It embarrasses me that Australia has such a plethora of governmental meatheads when it comes to the egregious, murdering, pernicious cult of islam. Why don’t a few of them actually pick up the hate-filled idiotic, rubbish filled kookran and the equally insane hadiths and actually learn something about the doctrines and the non-stop murderous activities and demands that they have inflicted on the world over the last 1400 years before they open their sycophantic mewling mouths? They are traitors to their countries and the safety of the nation!

On islam, Hurley is obviously a complete idiot. It would probably be one of the reasons that he was made Governor General as the people filling that role are not meant to rock the boat and are meant to mouth endless bullshit about how Australians, from all different communities, including the Muslims, are getting along swimmingly and are full of love for one another. Maybe he is after another such job now and is trying to show how full of love and affection he is for all groups of people. It seems that only Hungary and a few other countries, along with Wilders, the Le Pens, etc, dare to tell the unvarnished truth about islam, which is a barbaric load of evil nonsense. There are just so many mealy- mouthed bullshitters around when it comes to islam’s nature. Hurley is one of an endless list of such people.

There’s very little difference often times between willful ignorance of evil and outright complicity with it because the consequences of each are ordinarily the same. Highly instructive (and disturbing) how foolishness and malevolence are so often tied at the hip, two sides of the same very tarnished coin and all that. What a disgrace Hurley is for one reason or the other.
On a related note pertaining to foolishness (or evil), one gigantic fool (Biden) is seemingly about to be replaced with another gigantic fool (Harris). As a patriotic American, tg, I want you and your fellow Australians to know I am chagrined that probably at least 60% of my fellow Americans are aghast that America has fallen so much that complete idiots like Biden and Harris are now, a la Disraeli, at the top of the greasy pole. Ugh! .

Yes, Wellington, to me this protection racket, this endlessly excusing the basic evil of islam, is sickening. I am glad that some people are wide awake to the malignant nature of islam, but there are nowhere near enough people like that. As for the American political situation, it is staggering to have watched the doddering, senile wreck, Biden, and the cackling idiot, Harris, filling those important positions. It is like watching some kind of absurdist play, some kind of really dark comedy. I suppose that it would have been better if Biden had stayed in the Presidential race as he would have surely been smashed. All I know is that the scum who run China and all the other scum around the world would be loving seeing the USA being led by people of zero ability such as Biden and harris. Definitely worrying times. I hope you are going well despite all this insanity.

From an other Aussie Tim you are spot-on. I’m in my 80th year and never has the world been in such an upside down crazy place in my lifetime. Half the West seem to have become gibbering, morons and the leaders seem to be incompetent buffoons. I’m hoping for a few more years to see the outcome of all this lunacy, but it is not looking promising!
tim gallagher says
I agree with you, Brian. Such a level of ignorance continually on display by so many of our idiotic political leaders throughout the western world. There is no excuse for it. islam and the problem and danger it represents is too important an issue for these clowns not to do a bit of research into the nature of islam. With many people, it just seems to slackness, laziness that results in them remaining ignorant about islam’s evil nature. Once I read those quotes in the Koran that call for Muslims to kill non-Muslims when the opportunity arises, I used to include them when I wrote to our Australian politicians because i was sure that they knew nothing about islam. Hopefully, it helped wake up a few of our politicians. Most of them still seem clueless. I am 74 years old and, like you, I find these times pretty alarming, that’s for sure. There’s plenty of craziness around…

In 1989 Malaysia was nowhere near as islamic as it is today because today it is illegal in Malaysia for a non muslim to use the word allah in public or in print as the Government says this word is for use by muslims only even though this word is Arabic for God that the Malaysian Christians, mainly Chinese and Indians, used in their Churches… Nobody in Malaysia speaks Arabic.
The Law came about as an Iman said that if the muslim is walking down the street and he passes a Church he may get confused and think the Church is a mosque and enter the Church thereby getting converted to Christianity and so will be headed for the Hellfire…Therefore we must make it illegal for non muslims to use the word allah.
This wee fella seems to think his own flock are easily confused.
That was actually written in The Star Newspaper in Malaysia some years ago.

In the middle east tens of millions of Muslims quit Islam for his unhuman teaching.
Only in the western countries for the ignorant of the majorities Islam grow up.
The sharia law cannot be accepted by ANIMAL RESCUE, but it can be accepted by many of the western governments.
The western constitution is the only opportunity for Muslims to invade the western countries. By using the democracy, human rights and freedom of religion and speech.
I think the Muslims organization in the western countries know the cost and the value of many of the western leaders.
