Rashida Tlaib (D-Khan Younis) is angry that the House of Representatives has passed a bill prohibiting the State Department from citing figures on casualties — wounded and dead Gazans — that come from the Gaza Ministry of Health, which is controlled by Hamas: “Rashida Tlaib Fumes Over US House Vote to Prohibit State Department From Citing Hamas Casualty Figures,” by Corey Walker, Algemeiner, June 27, 2024:
“Six children, six are killed in Gaza every single hour,” Tlaib said. “But Palestinians are not just numbers. Behind these numbers are real people — mothers, fathers, sons, daughters who have had their lives stolen from them and their families torn apart, and we should not be trying to hide it.”…
The arithmetically-challenged Rashida Tlaib cries out for correction. To wit: there are 730 hours in a month. If “six children are killed in Gaza every single hour,” then 4380 children are killed every month in Gaza, and in the past eight months, 35,040 children have been killed. But that would mean that every single person killed in Gaza has been a child, and we know that is absurd. But when it comes to calumniating Israel, hey, who’s counting?
“There is so much anti-Palestinian racism in this chamber that my colleagues don’t even want to acknowledge that Palestinians exist at all,” Tlaib continued. “Not when they’re alive, and now, not even when they’re dead. It’s absolutely disgusting. This is genocide denial.”…
But of course there is “genocide denial” when it comes to Gaza. Can you guess why, Rashida ? Because there has been no genocide in Gaza. The civilian-to-combatant ratio has been about 1:1, which according to Professor John Spencer of West Point, is the lowest in the history of warfare. There is no “genocide,” because the IDF does everything it can to prevent civilian deaths, mainly by an elaborate system of warnings, so that civilians can get away in time from sites about to be targeted. To this end, by March, the IDF had dropped nine million leaflets, sent 15 million text messages, made 16 million prerecorded phone calls, and 100,000 personal calls, all to warn Gazas from away from cities, neighborhoods, and buildings. Rashida Tlaib can hardly be unaware of this practice, which is what led British Colonel Richard Kemp to describe the IDF as “the most moral army in the world.”
Tlaib, the first Palestinian American woman to serve in Congress, has received widespread bipartisan backlash for her fierce opposition to Israel. She also possesses a map of the Middle East in her office which omits the existence of the Jewish state.
In the wake of Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre throughout southern Israel, Tlaib defended the chant “from the river to to the sea, Palestine will be free” as an “aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence.” The chant is widely acknowledged as a call to eliminate the state of Israel, which is located between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
It’s not only on her office map that Tlaib has erased Israel. In her mind, Israel must disappear entirely —“from the river to the sea” — to be replaced by a 23rd Arab state. How can Tlaib possibly call that genocidal chant “an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence”?
In April, Tlaib received a wave of criticism for refusing to condemn anti-Israel protesters who chanted “death to America” and “death to Israel” during a rally in her district….
So this member of the U.S. Congress finds nothing objectionable about those who chant “death to America”? I’m convinced she does favor “death to Israel”and would be unashamed to admit it. But it’s much more disturbing that she could not bring herself to condemn those who chanted “death to America.” Is she so devoid of patriotism, so unwilling to stand up for the country that has provided her with a very good life? Yes.
Tlaib also refused to approve a House resolution condemning Hamas’ use of sexual assault, including the gang-rapes, and torture, of Israeli girls and women — torture and rape that was filmed by the perpetrators themselves. She refused, she says, because Israel was not accused of using sexual assault as a weapon of war. But there is no evidence, none, that a single IDF soldier has engaged in the sexual assault of Palestinian women. Tlaib is a sinister mythomane.
Tlaib the monumental ingrate hates America, that has provided her with so much. She hates Israel, and wishes that it would disappear, its Jewish citizens expelled, so that one more Arab state — there are so many! — could be created. She has never condemned the October 7 attacks by Hamas, not even the sexual assaults and torture of Israeli girls and women that were condemned in a Congressional resolution, giving as her reason the failure of Congress to condemn the nonexistent attacks by the IDF on Palestinian women. She has just been a keynote speaker at The People’s Conference for Palestine, an organization with links to the terrorist PFLP, where speaker after speaker praised the heroic deeds of Hamas killers on October 7.
Her offense is rank. She is beyond the pale. And all by herself, Rashida Tlaib constitutes a monstrous regiment of women.

I must admit despite not being a feminist that the above extract made me bristle. Albeit you softened it somewhat by saying “all by herself…”
This is a very misogynistic phrase, personally I would be careful not to quote someone like John Knox not only was he an unadulterated misogynist raging against women but in particular against Catholic women. Not a nice man whatsoever. Apart from that I thought it was another excellent & informative piece.
Rashida Tlaib is quite revolting especially in her stance of refusing to condemn the rapes and slaughter of innocents…it is hypocritical in the extreme. How anyone can be so inhumanely partisan I have no idea but that stance seems to be more common these days…it’s sad and frightening.
