These chains are not actually affiliated with Israel. But as with blasphemy allegations in Pakistan, the mere accusation is enough.

An Islamist group on June 22 stormed the Starbucks and Burger King stores located in the city center of southeastern Diyarbakır province in Turkey, protesting the brands’ alleged support of Israel.
The group chanted Islamic slogans such as “War, Jihad, Martyrdom,” and held placards that read, “Down with Zionism,” “Down with the U.S.”
Patrons scuffled as the group entered the store and damaged pieces of furniture, according to reporting by the Mesopotamia Agency (MA). Some employees and guests were reportedly battered….
United States-based businesses such as Starbucks, Mcdonald’s, and Burger King Turkey have been the target of anti-Israeli protestors across Turkey since October 7, with groups entering stores, disrupting businesses, or gunning down windows.
However, the Turkish operations of these chains deny any affiliation with Israel….

Not trying to advance any sort of “insanity defense” for Muslim vile behavior but noting that Sir Richard Burton, who adopted a cover identity as an Afghan Muslim in order to perfect his Arabic and lived in a Muslim quarter of Cairo. He observed that Muslims spied on each other hashing trying to perceive any deviation in their neighbors’ practice of Islam. According to someone I knew who lived in Pakistan when his father had work there, the influx of linguistically and ethnically different Muslim communities from various parts of India into Pakistan resulted in intense suspicion of which other. In effect Islamic conformism creates a grass roots level kind of police state in which everyone is a potential informer and enemy. This must make them perpetually paranoid, insecure and prone to reacting violently to anyone else’s perceived religious laxness. In this kind of rat-eat-rat society the ultimate scapegoats are the few non-Muslims unfortunate enough to have remained in Pakistan. This is an attempt to explain their behavior, not excuse it. Of course Muslims are not supposed to rob, rape or murder each other but the excuses of perpetual jihad and defending the “honor” of the religion allows nearly unlimited violence against the “kuffar.”

Burger King is pretty woke – I have largely avoided it as much as I could the last couple of years, even though their Original Chicken sandwich is my favorite. To an extent, so is Starbucks, but they are either Jewish founded or owned, and that’s enough of a crime in the eyes of the Turks
