Who are the marginalized in today’s absurd society? Not those who wear the label.
We all know whom we are supposed to think of as marginalized: racial minorities, women, and homosexuals. Examples of this abound. On Wednesday, far-left Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.) spoke at the Economic Security Project’s Guaranteed Income Now conference in Detroit and “was asked what her recommendations were for those in the audience doing the hard work of advocating for marginalized communities.” Everyone knew which communities were being discussed.
On Thursday, the University of Connecticut announced that Dr. David Mahatha, the new assistant dean of Diversity, Belonging, and Community Engagement at the UConn School of Law, had previously “organized Bridge to Law programs exposing middle school students, many from marginalized communities, to law school and to the possibility that they could become lawyers.” The same day, the University of Georgia’s student publication The Red & Black reported that the Athens Pride and Queer Collective “centers its work on helping the Athens LGBTQ+ community by working with historically marginalized communities through outreach, social connection, education, and events, according to their website.”
These stories and others, however, demonstrate in themselves that “marginalized communities” aren’t really marginalized at all. Instead, they’re celebrated, coddled, praised, and handsomely remunerated. Governors expatiate on what they’re doing to help them. Academic programs and social activist groups focus on giving them all manner of aid. The real marginalized groups in American society today don’t get anything close to this kind of attention. In fact, when they aren’t being ignored altogether, they’re being vilified.
Today, being marginalized is a big business. Those who attain coveted marginalized status find that it opens the door to all manner of preferment, wealth, and plaudits. If Gretchen Whitmer and other leftist do-gooders really cared about helping genuinely “marginalized communities,” they would turn away from the left’s chosen victim groups and instead focus their efforts on aiding those who are unfairly portrayed as oppressors, including their political opponents.
A few years ago, I spoke at Stanford University for about three minutes before the students walked out in a disruption staged by the Stanford administration; in those minutes, however, I did get the chance to thank the most marginalized group on campus, the Stanford College Republicans. The hostile crowd laughed derisively, but I was serious, and what I said was true. Leftist groups were and are coddled by the administration, showcased and showered with favors, preferential treatment, and donations. Meanwhile, what is being marginalized if it isn’t having the university administration work to discredit and disrupt a campus group’s lawful activities?

Just because margarine is fairly close to melted spatula plastic in its chemical composition and texture, is no reason to dismiss it so blithely!
That kuffar Frenchie-Yankee chef, Tony Bourdain, once said, “I can’t believe it’s not butter?–Well, I can.” Mr. Bourdain didn’t know what he was talking about….in his book “Kitchen Confidential”, he even claimed that pork was delightfully tasty!
It’s true that margarine tastes kind of strange on popcorn, and can cause digestive and defecatory problems in some wimps, but would you rather have problems taking a dump, or put on loads of weight from eating too much butter, and then be scornfully called a “butterball” and a “butterfingers”?!
For Pete’s sake, Mr. Spencer, you should give dietary advice to the corpulent folk in YOUR country, and let other countries’ people (who are generally much more svelte, as in the UK), give appropriate degustatory advice to THEIRS!

Since time immemorial, everyone has understood that all poor people are, as we would say today, marginalized. But not today’s leftists. They have decided that poor whites are NOT marginalized. This is just another stupid thing that today’s leftists are promoting, along with (among many others) the idea that the West needs more Muslims.

It is amusing but alarming how many government agencies and private companies throw money at this grifter for lectures on non-sense about how “racist” they are so they can get the check mark they payed the extortionist and he can move on to the next agencies or company to squeeze them for some more money. I would say it not the difference between butter and margarine ,it is the different between butter and used motor oil ,one can be consumed as food ,one would make you sick .We are a sick weak society to accept this charlatan as an authority on anything .The most marginalized community is the people not buying this guys BS that face getting fired for not sitting in one his lecturers about how they are born bad and must face punishment for being born white if you question his authority you are label a racist.

The most important statement in the article ‘marginalized is a big business’. Yes, it grows bureaucracy and administrative roles with little direct assistance to society’s so-called victims. Today in America all who want opportunity can find it – not instantly but over time we all can grow ourselves, our families, and our communities.

I would rather be a truly marginalized person than to be ‘lauded, praised, rewarded, etc.’ by people such as whitmire and biden.

Rick: Once when I was in college, I was in the washroom. There was some graffiti pointing to a roll of toilet paper which said, “Free liberal arts degrees: wipe to develop.”
At the time, one could feel that the writer was speaking facetiously, and that it was just a silly, exaggerated joke. These days however, one cannot be so sure!

I have two of those above mentioned pieces of paper and during COVID and stores were short of toilet paper I had them in reserve on the vanity just in case.

Good question. People are people….eat, drink, sleep, work, etc.
But the people who promote that “lifestyle” as it was once called, want those ones treated as if their choices make them special.
