Ever since October 7, the Lebanese Shi’a group Hezbollah has supported its fellow terror group, Hamas, by increasing its barrages of rockets launched into the Galilee. Some of those rockets are intercepted by Iron Dome, others fall harmlessly in open areas, still others destroy infrastructure, and occasionally kill someone, and others have been literally setting tens of thousands of acres on fire in northern Israel. More on this latest way of harming the Jewish state can be found here: “Fires Set Off by Hezbollah Rockets Spread Through Northern Israel,” Algemeiner, June 4, 2024:
Large swaths of northern Israel were engulfed by wild fires set off by rockets launched from Lebanon by the Iran-backed terrorist group Hezbollah, with rescue teams battling on Monday to get them under control.
Many Israelis who live in towns near the Lebanon border evacuated months ago given the escalating fighting between Israel and Hezbollah. Some houses caught fire, local media reported.
Since October, more than 100,000 Israelis have become displaced persons in their own country. Forty thousand of them live in towns and cities on the border with Gaza, and have left to avoid Hamas’ rockets. Sixty thousand have left the Galilee, in northern Israel, in order to flee from Hezbollah’s incessant barrages of missiles and rockets. This massive displacement from both southern and northern Israel has caused great disruption in the lives and wellbeing of those Israelis who were forced to flee, who still have no idea when it will be safe to return.
The Israeli military sent equipment and soldiers to help contain the flames, which spread quickly due to hot and dry weather, and six military reservists were lightly injured….
Israel‘s parks authority said earlier on Monday that fires had already covered hundreds of acres. The national fire service said its firefighters were operating late into the night in several spots, including in the town of Kiryat Shmona, where they were trying to protect a line of houses….
There is no doubt that Hezbollah is now determined — pushed by its puppet-master Iran — to keep attacking northern Israel, whether or not there is a “ceasefire” in Gaza. The Israeli government needs to move military resources to the north, preparing for a war that it does not want but knows it will have to fight. This means coming up with ways to destroy much of Hezbollah’s massive arsenal, now believed to contain between 40,000 and 120,000 rockets and missiles.
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett warns that “we must save the north. The Galilee is going up in flames. The fire is spreading,” and berates the Netanyahu government for ignoring the need to stop engaging in tit-for-tat exchanges of blows with Hezbollah, and to go to war to end its present threat. Netanyahu may be waiting until Hamas is completely crushed before sending the IDF on its next, even more arduous and necessary task — to destroy most of Hezbollah’s vast arsenal of rockets and missiles, to blow up Hezbollah tunnels still extant that snake underground into Israel from Lebanon, and to create a cordon sanitaire in Lebanon, along its border with Israel, which will require Hezbollah fighters to pull back by a kilometer or two from the Israeli-Lebanon bolder.
Bennett sees Israel absorbing blow after blow from Hezbollah in the north, and he thinks there is no time to waste: instead of continuing its tit-for-tat strikes against Hezbollah, he thinks that the IDF has to conduct massive airstrikes, while its bombers drop their biggest bombs, including bunker-busters which are capable of destroying weapons known to be stored in tunnels. And this almost certainly means that the airstrikes and bombing will be accompanied by a ground invasion by the IDF, to push Hezbollah fighters away from the border with Israel.
Bennett is alarmed; he does not think the present Israeli government is paying proper attention to the northern front, consumed as it is with finishing off Hamas in Rafah and staving off American pressure to agree to a very bad deal with Hamas. It seems to him that the current government — meaning Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — cannot “manage” the country. “Ex-PM Bennett rips government over response to Hezbollah attacks: North ‘is going up in flames,’” Times of Israel, June 4, 2024:
Amid the major fires in the north sparked by Hezbollah attacks, former prime minister Naftali Bennett tears into the government, charging that “the country is not being managed” and is devoid of leadership.
“These are tough days, but the sense that there’s someone in charge, even in difficult times, is not a luxury. It’s an existential need,” Bennett says in a statement.
“We must save the north. The Galilee is going up in flames. The fire is spreading,” he continues, referring to Hezbollah’s intensified rocket and drone attacks.
“Beautiful and flourishing places have turned into heaps of rubble. Some residents who were evacuated are already planning their lives elsewhere. This is a grave strategic event and can in no way be normalized.”
Bennett goes on and warns “the north’s abandonment is dangerous for our future” and calls on the government and security chiefs “to chart a new course.”
“The prime minister must begin to manage, and now,” he adds….
Israel cannot allow its north to remain emptied of its former inhabitants, who were forced to flee from Hezbollah barrages of rockets and missiles. The country is tiny enough as it is; the Galilee cannot simply become a no-man’s-land where Hezbollah’s writ will run. That means pummeling Hezbollah so badly that Nasrallah will agree to move back from the border with Israel, and to cease Hezbollah’s attacks on the Galilee. Nasrallah is ever the chocolate soldier, so frightened of being killed by Israelis that he sleeps in a different place very night, joking that “even I don’t know where I am.” He’s not a fanatic like Yahya Sinwar; he sees the benefit of staying alive. But the IDF can’t continue to put all of its efforts into Gaza; it needs to make clear that Hezbollah has gone too far in its attacks in the north, and that from now on the Lebanese group will suffer in the north the same crippling blows as Hamas has endured in the south.

If lebanon does nothing to reign in Hezbollah then they are part of the problem. As such whatever happens to them as a result is the consequence of their own inaction.

Let’s see if Greta Thunberg says anything to condemn Hezbollah for this….
somehistory says
Perhaps those idiots who ruin famous art works could go glue themselves to something in protest.
Hugh Fitzgerald says
Thunberg, for whom Hamas and Hezbollah can do no wrong, would praise the fires in the Galilee as a “controlled burn.”
James Lincoln says
Yes, Hugh.
And she’ll conveniently leave out any reference to “environmental concerns”.
Rufolino says
Why does anyone listen to “Greta Thunberg” ?
That a girl, a young woman, can be turned into a snarling thug by her mother, says everything you need to know about Leftism.

With Hezbollah, be it arson or launching deadly missile attack into Northern Israel, or sending a suicide /homicide bomber into a town or city of Israel. All of those horrific atrocities that the jihad of Hezbollah commit do so because they are following the instructions for violence and killing that in found in the Qu ‘ran, as see in For example in Surah instructs in violence and killing for the cause of Islam as found in ,for example 2:191. 4:89. 5:33. 9:5,111,123. 47:4.
Therefore , it’s both imperative and necessary to have a better understanding of the actual nature of the Qu ‘ran is very important since it instructs in violence and killing for the cause of Islam As found in ,for example 2:191. 4:89. 5:33. 9:5,111,123. 47:4. So to understand that “holy book” of Islam. a person need to look back in time before the coming of Muhammad and then the Qu ran . Back to the First Century AD which was the time of early Christian church. For the Early Christian Church had and now in modern times the Christian church still has the Gospel of Christ, First Corinthians 15:1-4.
Much later, in time, came Muhammad and he gave much information, that many believe to be divine, some of which is said to have been obtained from an angle from heaven. This information was written down on different objects and things Those written words in different objects was then compiled together and then eventually went into the composition of what is now called the Qu’ ran .
The Qu .ran is actually, that is in reality, another gospel, apart and greatly different from the Gospel of the Christian Church. Such a thing was predicted in the Bible. For the Bible does warn about those who will come and offer to people another gospel other than the one shown above, First Corinthians 15:1-4. For it is warned about any other “gospel” in the Bible. For it is written in the Bible “But even if we or an angle from heaven preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so I say now again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:8, 9. [ N K.J.V.]
Therefore, the Qu ‘ran is the result of the deception of a false prophet, Mathew 7:15., who may have come in contact with a fallen angle, a demon, So the imams and mullahs who preach it a truth to other are accused of and by God.

That vicious and deadly jihad entity, Hezbollah , with its Muslim terrorists, who engage in arson and other horrendous outrageous actions of wickedness, do hate with an Islamic passion the Jewish people and likewise the State of Israel.
For the awful terrible Islamic reality is that those jihadists of Hezbollah didn’t work up all of his deadly hate and malice for the Jewish people which reflected in that statement from their own imagination.
For according to Qu ran ,which is the entire foundation of Islam, the Jews are “apes and swine in human form.” Such vicious and malice -filled vicious murderous spite and hate of jihadist Muslims ,as those of Hamas ,Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad for the Jewish people is based upon the foundation of Islam’s “holy book” the Qu ‘ran.
The roots of this awful Muslim murderous hostility towards the Jewish people is the result of a firm but blind and unquestioning Muslim faith in the Qu ‘ran. Which instructs in violence and killing for the cause of Islam. As found in, for example, 4: 89. 5:33. 9:5,111,123. 47:4.
In other words the Qu ‘ran inspires and causes such hideous violence. Furthermore, another role the Koran has in such deadly Islamic terror attacks in the Jewish nation of Israel is that the Koran contains many negative about the Jewish people.
The reason that the Qu ‘ran reads as it does have much to do with the history of the founder and prophet of Islam, who is Muhammad. This is for a specific time period of his life Muhammad lived among many Jewish people and he liked them at first.
Later then they would not accept his claim of being of prophet, Muhammad then took is dislike to them that then turned into bitterness and even hate for them. So in the hate and bitterness he spoke many derogatory things about the as even referring to them as “apes and swine.” Such word of bitterness and hate, along with other thing he said, where written down on things and then later after his death those words were together and then eventually, in time went in the composition of the Qu ‘ran.
Therefore, that why the Koran reads and in does about the Jewish people, as in calling them descendants of “apes and swine.” As seen in the Qu ‘ran in 2:65; 7:166.; 5:60.
Furthermore, as a Christian I can keyboard that there is a chance the Muhammad actually might had been a prophet but the important thing to understand is that Muhammad was NOT a prophet send by God. Instead, Muhammad was a deceptive, lying false prophet send by Satan to lead many people astray and even and straight into hell. Jesus, in fact, had predicted and warned of the coming of such men as Muhammad. For Jesus taught “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15. In addition, the Bible further warns that “many false prophets have gone out into the world.” First John 4:1. [N.K.J.V.]
