These people’s balloon never lands. They think education and media initiatives will bring about gender equality in Arab states, They’re campaigning against gender-based violence, yet there is no doubt whatsoever, since this is CNN and the UN, that they never even come close to addressing the justification for gender-based violence in the Qur’an (4:34). And since they will never address the root cause of this violence, they’ll never do anything effective to end it. They will, however, spend an awful lot of money as they proceed to fail. Some of it will be yours.
“CNN Arabic, UN Women in the Arab States renew ties to promote gender equality,” by Anup Oommen, Campaign Middle East, June 26, 2024:
CNN Arabic and the UN Women in the Arab States have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to renew their partnership, which began in 2022, to support the acceleration of gender balance, financial inclusion, and female employment throughout the Arab States through 2026.
Over the past two years, this partnership has witnessed the adoption of an evidence-based strategy and creation of editorial stories and videos, including the commemoration of the ’16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence’, which called for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls, and amplified the voices of domestic violence survivors and supported activists and women’s organizations globally.
Caroline Faraj, Vice President of Arabic Services at CNN Arabic, said: “The initial two years of this partnership have seen consistently high levels of engagement in the stories and projects we have undertaken together, which underlines the power, relevance and importance of our collaborative efforts. These have not only resulted in impactful storytelling but have also built and strengthened new and important bridges across our communities. We are excited to continue this work and amplify even more voices across the region.”…

For the girls’ sake, I’d love for them to succeed, but without dealing with the root cause, there’s as much chance as Ilhan Omar staying clear of fraud: https://thepostmillennial.com/ilhan-omar-accused-of-not-reporting-tens-of-thousands-from-husbands-shady-wine-weed-businesses-in-financial-disclosures

There is no way gender equality will ever happen in any Muslim nation.

100% CORRECT.

And if they somehow succeeded in their storytelling, before long, males among them would be clamoring to be called ‘women’ and competing for ‘spaces.’
A story out of the U.K. regarding nurses being forced to undress/dress in the presence of a male nurse who is not taking any hormones and is trying to get his girlfriend pregnant, but says he’s a woman and changed his name to Rose. He ‘parades’ around them….one only has to imagine it.
The hospital is going along with the fraud.
A relative bought what was labeled “women’s shorts,” and they turned out to be crafted to fit the biological male.
mozlums won’t change direction on what they believe about women and the female’s lack of value, lack of worth, and the only things for which females are *useful.*
And in today’s society, the worth/value of women is being degraded everywhere as males take the places and spaces meant for women.

And, all this time, I thought that gender equality went against the tenets of islam.

Might have happened if the Shah was still in power or his heirs. Thanks to jimmy Carter for screwing up the middle east and Iran.

Ironically, the people who did achieve gender equality in Arab countries were the “Arab nationalists”, like Nasser in Egypt, Hafez Assad in Syria, Saddam in Iraq and Gaddafi in Libya. All of them adversaries to various degrees to the West, particularly to the US
Why do we care whether Arab/muslim women have gender equality?
