US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has found himself in an embarrassing position, as his negotiations with Hamas have inevitably failed. Blinken is now blaming Hamas to try to save face, while Hamas is blaming him. His foolish efforts to negotiate with Hamas were doomed before they started. Jihadists do not negotiate in good faith with infidels. They trick infidels.
The Biden administration will not manage to alter Hamas’s determination to annihilate the state of Israel. Blinken’s latest public relations strategy is backfiring. So he now condemns Hamas for not living up to its word, while insulting Israel by leaving it out of negotiations.
“Gaza ceasefire hangs in balance as US says Hamas want ‘changes’ to proposal,” by Daphne Psaledakis, Emma Farge and Nidal al Mughrabi, Independent, June 12, 2024:
US secretary of state Antony Blinken has said that Hamas has proposed numerous changes, some unworkable, to a Washington-backed proposal for a ceasefire with Israel in Gaza, but that mediators were determined to close the gaps.
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said on Wednesday many of Hamas’ proposed changes were minor “and not unanticipated” while others differed more substantially from what was outlined in a UN Security Council resolution on Monday backing the plan put forward by US President Joe Biden.
What makes Anthony Blinken believe that he could somehow negotiate more effectively than Israel is a mystery. Hamas deceived Israel right up to October 7, while Blinken appears to be clueless even now.
According to Army University Press, October 7 represented the collapse of Israel’s deterrence strategy in Gaza.
Since Hamas assumed control of the Gaza Strip in June 2007, Israel has pursued a strategy of deterrence in its dealings with the terrorist organization. The foundation of this approach was rooted in a political miscalculation within Israel and was shared by successive governments since 2007. This miscalculation regarded Hamas as the Gaza Strip’s de facto ruler, a known and somewhat predictable adversary conscious of Israel’s capabilities and deterred from Israel at different levels over the years. The belief was that it might be possible to engage in discussions and reach understandings, however indirectly, with Hamas for the sake of shared interests such as stability and economic prosperity in the Gaza Strip.
The notion that economic and social development and prosperity would lead to security stability and the prevention of conflict in Gaza inadvertently led to a disregard for the fundamentalist religious dimension of Hamas as an extreme Islamic terrorist organization openly committed to destroying the State of Israel. In this context, Israeli political and military leadership viewed the behavior of this IS-style organization through Western and “rational” lenses, temporarily losing sight of the true nature of the enemy they were confronting.
Now in comes America, oblivious to history and to what Hamas (Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya — Islamic Resistance Movement) is capable of doing, despite its savage display on October 7.
Israel was confronted with the stark evil of what the jihad is all about: deception, propaganda and ultimately extreme violence, which does not end until full conquest. The jihad is non-negotiable. Israel now recognizes this fact. America engages with Hamas under the outrageous assumption that Hamas is indeed capable of negotiation, while omitting Israel from the discussions.
The Biden administration has its own stake in this war, but it isn’t America’s interests. It willingly panders to Muslim Brotherhood operatives who have long infiltrated the Democrat party, while making a show to the American public regarding having any usefulness in the ongoing Gaza war.
American citizens are now under threat, as the Palestinian “resistance” spring-boarded internationally on October 7. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, openly “endorsed the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel, saying ‘Our region was very much in need of this attack.’” Khamenei has also hailed pro-Hamas U.S. college students, applauding their “standing on the right side of history.”
Dear university students in the United States of America, you are standing on the right side of history.

Meanwhile, in response to Blinken’s failed negotiations, senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan has denied “that the group presented new ideas for a Gaza truce deal,” making Blinken out to be a liar. In fact, neither Blinken or Hamas are believable. Hamdan stated that “Blinken was part of the problem, not the solution,” and continued blaming Israel for “rejecting proposals and accused the U.S. administration of going along with its close ally to ‘evade any commitment’ to a blueprint for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.”
The truth is that Israel has been steady in its determination to destroy Hamas, not negotiate with it; while it is highly questionable how much of an ally America under a Biden administration really is.
The Qatari-operated Al Jazeera reported:
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said that some of the amendments proposed by Hamas to the United States’ proposal for a truce in Gaza are not “workable”, but efforts to reach an agreement are continuing….
…When US President Joe Biden announced the multi-phased proposal on May 31, he said it would include the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a permanent cessation of hostilities.
Biden has no jurisdiction to promise an Israeli withdrawal. Israel is a sovereign country, not a puppet of the Biden administration.
One fact is clear: Hamas and its chief funder, Iran, view Israel as a mortal enemy. Nothing will change their determination to annihilate the Jewish state. Another fact: America under Joe Biden cannot be trusted. It has aided and abetted Iran via funding and appeasement.
Rather than interfering in Israel’s war on Hamas, Blinken should be declaring that America stands fully behind Israel as it defends it citizens and protects its state from annihilation. Nothing else is acceptable. It should also be sounding the alarm on global terror and the danger of Muslim Brotherhood infiltration in the West. Remember, Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Muslim states have been unwavering and unequivocal in their support of the Palestinian “resistance,” while America and Western globalists have emboldened jihadists and Islamic supremacy at a whole new level.
Taffy says
Blinken should not have expected anything different from Hamas.
I am sure that neither Biden nor Blinken Nor anyone else in the administration has read “On War” by Carl von Clauswitz. If they had, Blinken would be negotiating from a vantage Point of strength, telling Hamas that the United States will remove all restraints on Israel, and let the full fury of the IDF rain, fire and brimstone on Rafa until there is not a living Hamas soul.
somehistory says
hamas….mozlums determined to destroy the lives of the Jews and anyone who opposes their murderous intentions.
There is no bargaining, dealing, negotiating with mozlums. They’ll lie and stab those they lie to in the back.

Blinken embarrassed? I doubt that he’s capable of it, otherwise he’d have resigned after that Afghanistan debacle, along w/ Austin
OLD GUY says
HE and Joe will just bundle up a couple hundred million dollars to send as a peace offering again. Hopefully Hamas will get their bank accounts number right this time.
