It seems that all those screeching protesters on campuses across the land, shouting that “From the river to the sea/Palestine will be free” — a call for the destruction of Israel and its replacement by a 23rd Arab state — and demanding an end to Israel’s nonexistent “genocide,” have not made much of an impact on American views of Israel and the Gaza War. Nor has the slanted anti-Israel coverage of the war by, inter alia, CNN, NPR, the BBC, the Washington Post, and the New York Times, changed many minds.
The glad news is just in with the findings of the latest Marist poll: Americans still, overwhelmingly, support Israel in its war against those who would destroy it. A commanding majority of the American public believes that the US should continue to back the Israeli military effort against the Hamas terror group in Gaza, according to a new poll.
Over 70 percent of Americans think their government should continue supporting Israel, according to a May 2024 poll by Marist. In contrast, only a quarter of Americans believe the US should pause its support for the Jewish state until a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is secured, the poll found.
When asked about their views on the Israel-Hamas war, 23 percent of Americans agreed that the US “should fully support all of Israel’s military actions against Hamas.” Meanwhile, 48 percent took a more tempered approach to the war, arguing the US “should support Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas but should also use its influence to encourage Israel to protect Palestinian civilians.”…
Israel doesn’t need to be persuaded to “protect Palestinian civilians.” The IDF is already doing more to minimize civilian casualties than — as West Point Professor John Spencer, who specializes in urban warfare has noted — “any army in the entire history of warfare.” It does this mainly by warning civilians away from areas about to be targeted, so that they can move to safety. So far, the IDF has sent 16 million text messages, made 15 million prerecorded phone calls and 100,000 personal calls, and dropped nine million leaflets.
Roughly one-quarter of Americans fully back Israel in its war aims: the destruction of Hamas. Another 50% want the Biden administration to support Israel, but also to encourage Jerusalem to “protect Palestinian civilians,” which is already being done. Only one-quarter of Americans want American aid to stop until there is a ceasefire. It is not clear how many would be satisfied if that ceasefire were to be of limited duration, and how many want a permanent ceasefire.
We’ll have to break it to them — the ignorant, the brain-addled, and the antisemitic — most ungently. Those who have been attempting to convince the broad American public that Israel is “a settler-colonial apartheid genocidal state” have failed miserably. Let them do their damnedest, piling calumny upon calumny, and the results will be pretty much the same as this latest Marist poll. Tant pis.

Mr. Spencer didn’t write this article, nor did he make up the results of a poll. However, he has every right to feel any cotton-pickin way he wants to.
hamas is a ‘military’ army in and of itself. hamas is in control, they are the so-called “palestinians” and they get ammo and weapons from iran and other nations.
hamas slaughtered a multitude of people on Oct 7 because of their hatred for the Jews and others, and due to their greed…wanting what Israel has.

They technically have no army, navy or air force, but they do have terrorists who’re willing to die while killing Israelis. The Hamas paragliders who landed on that Israeli kibbutz on October 7th – technically, they weren’t parachuted troops the way a normal army would have, but how different were they from, say, a Turkish or Qatari squad of paratroopers landing there and wrecking the same havoc?

If you talk to the Palestinians, you will find the problems of the majority of them it’s not Israel but Hamas and PLO.
They prefer to be under the authorities of Israel because they can have a job with a good payment, benefit, freedom and respect.
Millions of Muslims who are living in Muslim countries escape by boats to Europe. Thousands of them lost their lives in the Mediterranean Sea. they were Looking for a better life, freedom and democracy.
But we never known that Muslim who are living In Israel escape to live in Europe. They did not need to do it in time they have a wonderful and secure life.
