American College of Pediatricians condemns underage gender transition

Finally, the American College of Pediatricians has issued a rebuke to medical associations and top experts, who have been advancing an aggressive trans agenda to the detriment of underage children. This would include the Biden administration, which has stood by “gender affirming care” for kids.

While the American Medical Association advocates “improving access to gender-affirming care is an important means of improving health outcomes for the transgender population,” the coalition of the American College of Pediatricians and other groups argue that there is no supportive evidence of such with regard to children and adolescents. In fact, the coalition warns that transgender medical procedures on children are harmful.

The rebuke goes a long way to return sensible discussion to the table, as opposed to the rabid activism that has seen youngsters used as guinea pigs for radical physical and mental therapies during the most turbulent and vulnerable years of their lives —the effects of which could prove catastrophic in the long term.

Not long ago in the UK, the Cass Review, an independent report commissioned by the UK’s National Health Service, “concluded that evidence supporting transgender medical treatments for children and adolescents was ‘remarkably weak.’”
The backlash is still being felt by activist professionals and politicians alike.

Many states across the US have banned or restricted “gender affirming care” for kids.

A coalition of pediatricians, health policy groups and conservative organizations is calling on medical professionals to stop promoting transgender medical treatments for children.

The American College of Pediatricians (ACP) and allied groups styling themselves as “Doctors Protecting Children” have published a declaration urging mainstream American medical associations like the American Academy of Pediatrics to abandon support for so-called “gender-affirming care” for transgender youths.

“As physicians, together with nurses, psychotherapists and behavioral health clinicians, other health professionals, scientists, researchers, and public health and policy professionals, we have serious concerns about the physical and mental health effects of the current protocols promoted for the care of children and adolescents in the United States who express discomfort with their biological sex,” the declaration states.

Affirming that sex is a biological characteristic and that medical decisions “should not be based upon an individual’s thoughts and feelings,” including their self-professed “gender identity,” the groups assert that what is currently accepted as best practice treatments for gender dysphoria is actually harmful for patients. Their view is disputed by the larger medical community, which has established that gender is a social construct, not an inborn biological realty, and that validation and affirmation of a person’s internal self-identity are in their best interest….

  1. At last real doctors being heard rather than just for profit pro surgical intervention and big pharma mouthpieces.

  2. Why it takes so long? Maybe they are disappointed because they don’t get what they are expecting from the transgender industry.
    Common sense says that any drug has side effect so how come major body changing drug like puberty blocker is not harmful to children? The practice should not allowed at all from the beginning.

    In contrast, the American Academy of Pediatrics has become a woke leftist physician organization.
