Let’s repeat: it is Hezbollah that has been escalating attacks, not Israel. It has been Hezbollah that has continually been launching rockets and drones, in ever increasing numbers, into Israel. It is Hezbollah that has forced 80,000 people to leave much of northern Israel, near the border with Lebanon, for safe homes elsewhere, far from Hezbollah’s rockets. Israel cannot allow such a “shrinking” of its habitable territory. Once Hamas has been effectively dismembered, and the 60,000 displaced Israelis, who had left their homes near the border with Gaza to live beyond the range of Hamas’ rockets, are able to return home, the IDF will turn its attention to Hezbollah, launching a major attack designed to end the group’s constant barrages of rockets into Israel, so that those displaced Israelis in the north can move back to their homes that have been empty over the past eight months.
A senior Biden administration official said, “The most important thing about the hostage release and ceasefire deal that’s on the table now is that if it’s achieved, it can have an impact in the north [of Israel], so that is an opportunity for us to be able to bring this conflict to a full close.”
How would the ceasefire deal that the Bidenites have presented to Hamas, were it to be accepted — and all signs now are that Hamas will not accept it, for the group has attached new demands that constitute a rejection of the original offer; these new demands are completely unacceptable to Israel, for they include a complete and permanent ceasefire, and a total pullout of IDF troops from Gaza, both to be guaranteed in writing by the American government — decrease the tension between Israel and Hezbollah? Wouldn’t such an agreement between Israel and Hamas more likely allow Israel to turn its undivided attention to going after Hezbollah?
The Bidenites should not expect Israel, once it has dismantled Hamas, to any longer pull its punches with Hezbollah, in order that the 3,600 American servicemen in Syria, Iraq, and Jordan not become targets. The Americans need to be reminded that they have already been targeted, on several occasions, both by ISIS and by Iran-affiliated militias in Iraq. And on those occasions neither Israel nor Hezbollah had anything to do with provoking such attacks.
Instead of trying to prevent Israel from “escalating” its war with Hezbollah, the Bidenites should say nothing to dissuade the Israelis from taking on Hezbollah when the time is right – that is, after the war in Gaza ends. If the IDF, now that it will no longer have to deal with Hamas, can overawe Nasrallah, who is very afraid of being killed, and cause him to ratchet down — “de-escalate” — Hezbollah’s attacks, that would be a good result. But an even better result would be a conflict in which the IDF, now able to focus its attention, men, and weapons on fighting Hezbollah, so damages the group that it cries uncle, agreeing to return to the relative peace that was observed for years after the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. At that point, the 80,000 Israelis can return to their homes in the north, reclaiming villages in the Galilee that Hezbollah had for many months rendered uninhabitable, just as 60,000 Israelis will have already returned to their homes on the border with Gaza that they had earlier been forced to leave.

Reducing Medicare prescription costs (and not by that much) and doing away with college loan debts don’t count because, between Biden and the Democrats stupidly spending trillions we do not have and shifting loan debts to others, all this has only ensured massive inflation, wiping out any meager prescription savings, and functioning as just more of a burden to the American taxpayer.

If I were Israel, I would quite clearly point out the UN is responsible. No more UN “peacekeepers”. Israel must be responsible for security.
