Fawlty Towers star John Cleese has said Brits shouldn’t be frightened to say ‘some cultures are superior to others’.

The 84-year-old claimed it is ‘wrong’ for Muslims to want sharia law to be enforced in the UK.

Sharia, derived from the Quran, is regarded as Islam’s legal system. While it is a source of guidance for many Muslims, sharia councils have no legal jurisdiction in England and Wales.

The screenwriter also defended previous comments made on how London is no longer an English city – and insisted it was ‘not a racist remark’.

The comments come as Fawlty Towers is set to be revived after more than 40 years.

Cleese slammed the BBC in 2020 for temporarily removing an episode of the show from its streaming platform because of ‘racial slurs’.

He has previously told LBC he is in favour of trigger warnings on TV – but added that it is a ‘mood that will pass’ because ‘everyone is super sensitive at the moment’….

    • Well said JC, I am generally not in favour of actors getting involved in poilitics, but he is just a little younger than me and our generation can remenber that thousands of young men from UK and the Empire plus the USA and many other countries, gave their lives to destroy the very Islamo fascism that is on the rise in Europe, USA and many other non Moose Limb countries. Western civilisation is superior in every measure one can think of.. Of course bad things happened but we learned. Far worse happened in the Moose Limb world and they continue to happen today, just listen to any refugee from Iran for example. Iran is perhaps the nearest thing to Nazi Germany that is possible to find today, (leaving out N.Korea) yet the USA and EU leaders continue to do business with Iran’s leaders, while ignoring the Iranian peopels desire for freedom.

    • What, Jerry Seinfeld promoted muslim immigration to the West? I still remember that Seinfeld episode w/ that Paki Babu Bhat, whose immigration papers were lost in Jerry’s mail, and who got deported as a result ?

    • But he doesn’t say which culture is superior from the inferior one. He urged others to do that while he himself said nothing. If he is really courageous, he should say loudly that Islam culture is inferior like what JK Rowling said against transgenderism.

  2. The construction of the many mosques in the United Kingdom not only means that more and more Muslims are entering those two continents and likewise more and more people in the UK are now being proselytized to Islam.

    This may be disturbing enough, nevertheless this mass construction of mosques in England and other Western nations have still has a further meaning which has been explained by a former Muslim who is now a Christian, Dr. Daniel Shayesteh, in his book ISLAM THE HOUSE I LEFT BEHIND for in page 99 it informs the reader that “The mosque is vital for establishing Muslims as sovereign over non-Muslims in a non-Islamic society or country. Building a mosque in a non-Islamic society or country symbolizes Islam’s claim over that society or country, even with a non-Muslim majority.”

    • That’s why they wanted to build a mosque on the site of the Twin Towers but were denied – they built it a block away.

He should have been more direct and told the truth and that is that western civilisation is the greatest of achievements and islam is a load of primitive, backward, evil, vicious crap that is fit only for knuckle draggers not human beings. But anyway, well said Cleese. It’s a start for a public figure to speak even part truths and takes courage. He’ll probably cop a backlash and be cancelled by the fascist left and Muslim barbarians..

  8. Britons have brought themselves to this point in history where they and their Godless culture are being rapidly replaced by Muslims and the totalitarian political religion of Islam. Muslims are preparing for future generations whilst Britons have been aborting theirs to net zero for the sake of convenience and due to lack of respect for God’s gift of reproduction.     Our apple pie, which you YANKS stole, is less gooey and syrupy, and contains more fruit!

    Also, our dessert repertoire is more extensive than yours, and we have all the ethnic items that you lot do (ie. Baklava, Gelato, Churros, Gulab Jamon, Leche Flan, Egyptian pudding, Llassi yogurt shakes, Halo-Halo sundaes, et cetera…)

    • When I was at Heathrow 2 years ago, I had a sourdough bacon sandwich and a lime juice cordial. It was a tad underwhelming: for the sandwich, when I asked for mustard, the only option was grey poupon, which is normally fine, but a bit of overkill for this sandwich. The lime juice cordial lacked any fizz: usually, I make it w/ club soda and either sweet lime juice if I’m in the US, or cordial if I’m outside

      Somehow, I like the US meals better. Although thanks to Biden, they’ve become too expensive

      P.S. I wonder whether John Allan shares your view on confections ?

      • Infidel: thanks for the reply. I’m surprised that they still have bacon sandwiches at Heathrow, for fear of offending some Muslim traveller. That is, unless it’s vegan bacon or duck meat bacon or something.

        U.S. breakfasts and British breakfasts (especially English ones) have a lot in common in that they’re fairly substantial and satisfying.

        I once had a “Continental breakfast” in Paris, and it was just a cafe-au-lait, a croissant and some jam! I mean, where’s the beef?

        • US breakfasts in hotels – I generally choose b/w cereals or pancakes, and sometimes, fried eggs w/ sides of sausage and/or bacon. It’s pretty good. Generally at home, I just skip breakfast, being a bit of a late riser

          In US, the portions used to be more, compared to the Brits. But it has reduced, but we still have to pay through the nose. Courtesy Bidenomics

    • On second thoughts, shouldn’t you tell John Cleese to worry about his country, while you worry about yours? (Never mind that it’s the same country) ?

      • I understand that John Cleese speaks fluent German, and could probably move to Germany and even become a naturalized German citizen if he wanted to, but of course the Germans are having similar problems with Islamization in general and radical Islam in particular.

        • If he speaks fluent German, he has 3 more options – Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Or outside Europe, there’s Southern Chile, that has a German speaking population, and I believe Namibia as well (although I dunno – SWAPO might have made it as bad as South Africa)

  13. There’s only one problem with what Cleese says and that’s that mohamedanism doesn’t qualfy as a culture. It’s pure filth. But then again, that means our culture automatically is superior.

    My message to her was you are a historian and who merely states facts.

    And certainly not an extremist. Teresa May was wrong to bar you you from entering the UK.

    • Your thought is in the right place, but honestly, why would any sane non-muslim wanna visit UK today? Where muslims have an overwhelming street veto, as well as de-facto control of that country. Just like I’d never think of going to countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Qatar, Turkey, Iran, Yemen,….. similarly UK and a few European countries are now on my do-not-visit list. I think Mr Spencer too is just as well avoiding it as well, particularly given what happened to him in Iceland

      In the post Covid world, where all sorts of meetings & conferences can happen online, using either Zoom or Google Meet or Microsoft Teams or WhatsApp, anybody from these countries who want to talk about the situation either there or worldwide can get Mr Spencer on from the comfort of their homes – and his

  16. I believe that Brits can say that some cultures are superior to others. As long as there is an implicit conclusion that the superior cultures are the islamic ones, not the Western ones, or even the Eastern ones (Chinese/Indian/South-East Asian/non-muslim African…..)

  17. I wonder if Islamofascist misogynist homophobic Sharia Law would start protests in all universities espousing “wokeism” “progressivism” “inclusiveness”. Would they be concerned that the rights of Women, Gays, trans and the removal of Human Rights of religions such as Christianity and Judaism would be erased? Would they not care? Sharia Law imposes a Middle Ages culture that defies Democracy and Human Rights! Did they ever think of what society would look like under Sharia Law? Do they even know what it means?     Well, good for John Cleese for speaking out.

    I think it was his Monty Python colleague Eric Idle who noted that it was dangerous to poke fun at Muslims, though–and that this was why he would never do so. These things are related.
