Sweden: Eurovision organizers rebuke singer who wore keffiyeh in during contest, he blames ‘Israeli propaganda’

Yet again, the Palestinian “resistance” has hijacked another event. This time, it was the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Swedish singer Eric Saade, who has a Palestinian father, “did not wear the keffiyeh in his rehearsals for the show.” He decided instead to spring it on the official competition, in order to make a statement. And that he did.

Even before the competition, Saade balked against rules that applied to everyone, but expected special privileges for the Palestinian “resistance.” Blame Israel for everything has become the Palestinian proclamation, when Israel obviously has nothing to do with Eurovision’s rules against symbols of nations not appearing in the contest. The European Broadcasting Union responded: “We regret that Eric Saade chose to compromise the non-political nature of the event.” Saade was following the trends of our times. “Globalize the intifada” is now a rallying cry across the West, and the movement to do just that is based on bullying, intimidation, force and propaganda.

The globalization of the Palestinian “resistance” will continue to increase. Yet that “resistance” is actually an attempt at another jihad conquest. Israel’s Muslim Arab neighbors have been set against Israel from the day of its founding, hence the wars of 1948, 1967, and 1973, and the ongoing quest to obliterate Israel from the river to the sea.

Woke Western culture has offered the perfect opportunity for every foreign revolutionary political agenda to gain a foothold in the name of “diversity.” The keffiyeh is not simply cultural. As with the Sharia, politics is intertwined with culture and religion. Hatred of Jews and Israel is intertwined with Islam theologically and historically and is a strong element of Palestinian culture, as the virtue of murdering Jews is indoctrinated into Palestinian children of the youngest ages. The keffiyeh is a powerful political statement of hatred and supremacy that does not belong anywhere in the West.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Eden Golan is watching her back at the Eurovision song competition, and has been “largely confined to her hotel room throughout the week” for her own safety.

The Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden, officially began Tuesday evening with the first live semifinal, which went off largely without a hitch — except for an opening act performer who drew a rebuke from organizers for making a political statement.

Eric Saade — a Swedish singer and past Eurovision contestant who was one of the performers invited to take part in the opening act of the show on Tuesday — appeared on stage with his wrist wrapped in a keffiyeh, a Palestinian symbol often used in pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel protests.

Saade, whose father is Palestinian, railed against Eurovision organizers last week for their ban on flags and symbols that represent any nation not participating in the contest, including the Palestinians — a policy that has been in place for years. He wrote on social media that the European Broadcasting Union was “disgraceful,” and accused it of disseminating “Israeli propaganda.”

In response to a request for comment by The Times of Israel, the EBU noted that the show is live and that “all performers are made aware of the rules of the contest.” The EBU added that “we regret that Eric Saade chose to compromise the non-political nature of the event.”

Saade did not wear the keffiyeh in his rehearsals for the show. As he is not a contestant in this year’s competition, it is unclear if he will face any repercussions for violating the Eurovision rules….
