The decision of Russia to remove the Taliban from “the list of Moscow-designated terrorist organizations” serves to empower and embolden the Taliban globally. The world has reshuffled and continues to do so under the Biden administration, with the red-green axis tightening ever further.
Russia also invited the Taliban to the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June. Since the war in Ukraine:

The budding Russian-Taliban alliance is a big slap in the face to Joe Biden, who miserably failed in Afghanistan. Russia is now expanding to fill the void Biden left.
Russia and the Taliban are also fighting the expansion of ISIS-K in the region — the group that claimed responsibility for the recent attack at a Moscow concert hall.

ISLAMABAD — A senior Russian diplomat says Russia’s foreign and justice ministries have told President Vladimir Putin that Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban “can be removed” from the list of Moscow-designated terrorist organizations.
Zamir Kabulov, the special presidential envoy for Afghanistan, told state-run TASS news agency Monday that the delisting would enable Moscow to decide whether to recognize the Taliban government.
“Without this [removal of the ban on the Taliban], it will be premature to talk about recognition,” he was quoted as saying. “Therefore, work on this issue continues. All considerations have been reported to the top leadership of Russia. We are waiting for a decision.”
Separately, TASS quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as saying Monday that the Taliban is the “real power” in Afghanistan and that the group’s possible removal from Moscow’s list of banned organizations reflects “objective reality.”
Russia formally labeled the Taliban a terrorist organization in 2003, when the radical group was waging a deadly insurgency against the United States and allied troops in Afghanistan.
The insurgents stormed back to power on August 15, 2021, and established a men-only Taliban government as the U.S.-led foreign troops withdrew from Afghanistan….

Some people never learn. Putin seems as prescient as some government officials in the EU and the US for which he will watch the Russian people pay the price for his myopic recklessness. I would like for the opportunity to ask these government officials (I refuse to refer to any head of government that placates the enemy of mankind as leaders) what will it take for them to awaken to the truth about Islam and in particular, its followers? If 9/11 and 10/7 and the numerous attacks on innocent civilians have not been enough to even cause a blink, it appears that only a full out attack on a non-Muslim nation, other than Israel, will cause these officials to awaken to the danger surrounding each and every one of their citizens.

I think they’ve run out of Tatars, Bashkirs, Dagestanis, Chechens and other muslims within their territory, and are therefore trying to get the Taliban to start donating fighters to them, since their fighters have nothing to do in Afghanistan
Looking back now on history, & w/ 20/20 hindsight, I think we supported the wrong side in the 80s during the Afghan war. We should have supported the Soviets, let them annex Afghanistan and make that place as (comparatively) civilized as Uzbekistan or Tajikistan up north
