When Trevor Bickford was 19 years old, on Dec. 31, 2022, he ventured down from his home in Wells, Maine, to Times Square. But he was not planning to join with multitudes of New Year’s Eve revelers. Instead, he attacked three NYPD officers with a machete. On Thursday, he was sentenced to 27 years in prison, and so even if he is on his very best behavior for the next few years, we likely won’t be hearing about him for a while. But his case reveals a massive problem that the whole world seems determined to ignore.
NBC New York reported Thursday that Bickford was sentenced “after pleading guilty to several terror-related charges.” The report noted that Bickford also “previously told the judge he was under psychiatric treatment for schizoaffective disorder.” So did he attack the cops because he was nuts? Not necessarily: Bickford “said he carried out the attack to wage jihad, with the goal of killing military-aged men so he could become a martyr.” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said that Bickford was “inspired by radical Islamic extremism.”
In Jan. 2024, the Associated Press stated that Bickford “shouted ‘Allahu akbar’ — the Arabic phrase for God is great — before striking the officers in the head with the machete and trying to grab an officer’s gun.” This explanation was inaccurate and misleading. “Allahu akbar” doesn’t mean “God is great”; it actually means “Allah is greater.” That is, the god of Islam is superior to anything that non-Muslims worship or hold dear. This declaration of superiority frequently accompanies acts that are designed to enforce the subjugation and submission of the infidel.
That wasn’t all. When Bickford was arrested, he had a handwritten note in his backpack, asking his family to “please repent to Allah and accept Islam.” To his mother, Bickford wrote: “I fear greatly that you will not repent to Allah. And therefore I hold hope in my heart that a piece of you believes so that you may be taken out to [sic] the hellfire.” To his brother, he likewise wrote: “Please repent to Allah and accept Islam. I fear for you.” To another brother in the Marines, he added: “You have joined the ranks of my enemy. And for that I can give you no kind words – return to Allah.”
Faced with all this evidence, authorities had to admit that this was a jihad attack, something they were extremely reluctant to do.

Mr. Spencer: WHO are YOU to say that Trevor Bickford is the MAIN kid of the State of Maine and the New England region?
Maine and New England have a lot better kids, though admittedly some young jihadists have come from that area.
You forget that numerous bona-fide, decent young geniuses come from that region, not unlike Matt Damon’s character in the movie “Good Will Hunting” (along with the late, great Robin Williams!).
Additonally, you can get awesome craft beer, clam chowder, bisque soup, lobster and even French-Canadian grub there!
So, you should concern yourself with YOUR state and region, and let folks in Maine and New England concern themselves with theirs!

Mike, I’m from Maine. Yes, we do have some fine kids from here but the point is that Bickford got the idea to attack policemen from somewhere. That somewhere is from Islamic doctrine.
There are at least 109 violent verses of jihad in the Quran and numerous others in the Sunna.
State Reps. Deqa Dhalac and Mana Abdi (both from Somalia) co-sponsored a bill to establish an “Office of New Mainers” to facilitate settling refugees (provide welfare) from s**thole countries who have no skills and little interest in assimilating. The most rabid Leftist in the entire legislature, Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross, was the bill’s sponsor. It passed and was signed by Comrade Gov. Mills who wants to bring 75,000 more unvetted illegals into the state by 2029.
The Marxists/Islamists in this state are creating a problem we didn’t have previously and it will only lead to more wannabe jihadists like Bickford in the future.

ME Infidel: thanks for your reply. I understand that non-Muslims from Haiti (despite it being a dirt-poor Third World country) usually assimilate well when they immigrate to New England. I don’t know about non-Muslim immigrants from other Latin American and/or Caribbean countries, though.
Muslim immigration wouldn’t be such a problem if there weren’t a high percentage of them who just want to sponge off welfare, refuse to assimilate, and treat non-Muslims like crap.

Again, a convert to Islam does something bad based on his (or her) belief and there are a lot of similar case. We don’t find as many cases as that on converts to other religions.
Even without knowledge of Islam, people with common sense should think that there are something evil in Islamic teaching, which is true.
