There are nearly 2,000,000 Syrian refugees — 800,000 of them legally registered — now living in Lebanon. Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah in Lebanon, has called on the Lebanese government to make it easier for Syrian refugees now in Lebanon to travel by sea to Europe. He wants Lebanon to open its maritime borders and encourage the Syrians to take that sea route to Europe. It’s a way to relieve economic pressures at home, by decreasing the spending on those Syrian refugees, while at the same time increasing the pressure on European governments, that do not want any more Muslim migrants flooding their countries, to give more aid to Lebanon to prevent those Syrian refugees, and likely Palestinian refugees, too, who have been living in Lebanon for decades, from heading to Europe. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said on May 13 that Lebanon should open its maritime borders so that Syrians who live in Lebanon can board boats heading to Europe. The comments have been greeted with controversy and condemnation in Lebanon, as it appears Hezbollah is now trying to use Syrian refugees to create a crisis with Europe, Al-Ain media in the UAE reported.
Of course, Nasrallah is trying to provoke a crisis with Europe. He wants to threaten Europe with opening the maritime borders so that Syrian and other refugees in Lebanon can head by rickety boats to Europe, where they cannot be turned away. Not everyone in Lebanon is pleased with this attempt to create a crisis with Europe, in what is essentially a shakedown — give us more aid, says Nasrallah, or else many of the 2,000,000 Syrians in Lebanon will arrive by sea to overwhelm the welfare services in several countries. And the Syrians may be followed by more than 200,000 Palestinian refugees still living in UNRWA camps in Lebanon.
According to reports, Nasrallah made the comments after the European Union had promised $1 billion in aid for Lebanon. The money is supposed to prevent illegal migration from Lebanon. In essence, the EU is doing what it did with Turkey in the past, trying to pay a foreign country to keep refugees from leaving for Europe. European countries have done the same in North Africa with varying degrees of success. Generally, what these deals mean is that the migrants face abuses and restrictions. In this case, it appears Hezbollah is trying to exploit the crisis by calling for Lebanon to basically encourage Syrians to leave via a dangerous maritime route. This could then result in a crisis that would lead to more funding for Lebanon, which Hezbollah apparently could then divert for its own needs….
Nasrallah thinks that opening Lebanon’s maritime borders will make it possible for up to two million Syrian refugees in the country to take the sea route — admittedly dangerous — to Europe. He saw that the European Union recently promised to provide the Lebanese government with $1 billion in aid, if it prevented Syrians from leaving the country for Europe. He has figured that by now calling for the Lebanese government to open its maritime borders, thereby encouraging more Syrians (and Palestinians) to leave Lebanon for Europe, this will loosen the EU’s purse-strings further. He believes the Europeans will provide even more money to the Lebanese to restrict refugees from leaving for Europe. And Nasrallah believes that as the strongest political force in the country, Hezbollah will be able to divert much of that new European aid to its own coffers.
In essence, Nasrallah is once again trying to use Lebanon for Iran’s interests, and Iran backs the Syrian regime and Hezbollah. Hezbollah is trying to create a migration crisis for its own reasons. A crisis could serve Iran’s interests in several ways. If Syrians move to Europe, then they won’t need to return to Syria, and the Syrian regime could benefit from this. Also, Hezbollah doesn’t want the Syrians in Lebanon for various reasons. Hezbollah intervened in the Syrian civil war, sending forces to Syria in 2012. This caused many Syrians to flee as they faced suppression from the Syrian regime. That means that Hezbollah is partly responsible for the crisis in Syria. Now, it is exporting more of that crisis to Lebanon.
The two million Syrian refugees in Lebanon are Sunni Muslims. Bashar Assad doesn’t want them back, as they supported his opponents in the Syrian civil war. Hezbollah doesn’t want them to remain in Lebanon because they are natural enemies of the Shii’tes. Making it easier for them to leave Lebanon by boat for Europe is in Hezbollah’s interest. Lebanese Christians and Sunni Muslims naturally want these Sunni refugees to remain, swelling the ranks of Nasrallah’s enemies. The Christians and Sunnis still outnumber the Shiites in Lebanon 2-1. Together they still dominate the government, and are certain to oppose Nasrallah’s proposal. Meanwhile, his operatives are being clobbered by Israeli airstrikes after every rocket barrage by Hezbollah into northern Israel. Perhaps it’s time for Nasrallah to crawl back into one of the many hiding places he uses — he changes his living quarters every night, for he is terrified of being assassinated by Mossad. He once famously admitted that “even I don’t know where I am sleeping tomorrow.”
The spectacle of Israel’s smashing of Hamas during the past eight months also must weigh on his mind. Nasrallah has been wiling to intermittently fire rockets into the northern Galilee, but pointedly has not come to Hamas’ rescue by opening a second front. Perhaps he now realizes he’s been playing with fire, when it comes to Israel, and once the IDF has finished with Hamas, it will turn its attention in a major way to Hezbollah, hoping to repeat in Lebanon its achievements in Gaza.

Well of course Muslims are going to try to continue their, unfortunately very successful, invasion of Europe and all other western non-Muslim countries. And, alas, they will probably succeed because, unlike those wise Hungarians, the people in most of our western countries will not end this invasion. The barbaric Muslims’ plan is pretty simple. Invade and then breed like rabbits and, in the long run, you win and take power and impose a stinking, primitive 7th century Arab way of life on all people everywhere. The wonder of it all, Wellington, the disgrace of it all, is that so many people just refuse to face the reality when it comes to islam. Just last evening I was talking to my very well informed conservative friend, Chris, a guy i have known since way back at high school, and we were bemoaning the unbelievable inability of so many people to see how letting Muslims invade our non-Muslim countries is so extraordinarily damaging. I was saying that future generations are going to curse the dopes, or traitorous sell out merchants on the left, who let the Muslims into our countries in such large numbers. I am surrounded by many left wing people and last week I had an interesting conversation which illustrates how some left wingers ignore the truth, mainly through laziness I guess. I’m pretty lazy myself, but when I first read, here on Jihad Watch, years ago now, that the Koran had passages such as “KIll the non-believers wherever you find them”, etc. I was shocked. I think islam is such a big problem that I went and checked if the Koran really said that. I then informed many Australian politicians about these calls in the Koran. The other day I said to a left wing person I know that the Koran contained those quotes. Now he would get his news off the left wing media and he said, well, some Muslim woman had just said that the Koran doesn’t contain such quotes. I said, well, it does because I checked it out. He was just, very lazily, accepting the lies from this Muslim woman. It was what he wanted to believe was the truth. This slackness is a problem. Too many idiots accept the bullshit from Muslim liars and their left wing mates. I’m doing OK although feeling old and winter is rapidly approaching here and, although mild here, it knocks an old man like me around.

Yes, James, years ago I knew nothing about islam, like most of us, then I could see how much trouble, as in terrorist attacks, etc, Muslims seemed to be causing and so I thought that this was an important enough issue to do some research into islam. That left wing guy I mentioned was just lazy enough and gullible enough to accept what the Muslim woman said. There are too many people around who refuse to wake the hell up. I suspect that, from the left wingers’ point of view, islam and Muslims are no problem and they want to stick to that point of view even though it is complete bullshit. Plenty of people in Australia are waking up , but still nowhere near enough.
