French police have shot dead an armed man who allegedly set fire to a synagogue in the northwestern city of Rouen, officials said.
Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin posted on X that the armed man was “neutralized.”
“In Rouen, national police officers neutralised early this morning an armed individual clearly wanting to set fire to the city’s synagogue. I congratulate them for their reactivity and their courage,” he said.
The synagogue is said to have suffered significant damage in the attack.
Local police responded at 6:45am to reports of a fire rising from the main Rouen synagogue.
The suspect exited the synagogue threatening police with a knife and an iron bar, according to the national police information service. An officer opened fire and fatally wounded the man, police said.
A source told Agence France-Presse the man “was armed with a knife and an iron bar, he approached police, who fired”.
The Rouen synagogue sustained significant damage, including to its furniture, but no one was injured, mayor Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol said….
The fire has been brought under control, according to officials, but the attacker’s identity and motive are still unclear….

Back in the ’90’s, the fbi was watching a mozlum couple in PA, I think it was, who had a little store. They were thought to be dealing in fraud with food stamps and other things; the male traveled across country meeting with other mozlums. If I recall correctly, they were from pakistan.
Anyway, the feds had phone taps and bugs in their upstairs apt. Over the lines, they heard the couple kill their teen daughter for having a job and a possible boyfriend. the female (not a mother in any sense, one could say a ‘birthing person’) held her daughter down while the male murdered her.
It’s been happening for as long as there has been islam. It will keep happening for as long as islam exists. And it’s a known fact among just about everyone who could have some authority to clamp down and at least, protect a few innocents.

Clearly his ‘motive’ was to burn down the synagogue. What compelled him to want to do that?
Was he a disgruntled, demented member who wanted revenge on someone he thought had wronged him? Not likely.
Was he a mozlum who felt the strong need, the overwhelming desire, to destroy something which he could identify as belonging to the Jews? Strong possibility.
Was he neither, but inspired to take an active part in the present day Jew hatred as so many college staff and students and politicians are doing in support of hamas? Possibly.
When the police find out his identity, they will know the ‘motive,’ the *reason* he set the fire and then attacked them with his weapons.
My guess as someone who knows nothing more than what is written above, and some things about ‘motives,’ is he was a mozlum, inspired by a book of hate, filth and demonic demands, had been listening to the local mozlum cleric speak about the Jews and what was needed in that regard; and of course, he thought he might get away with it….in the very early morning hours… but the police surprised him.
