Many leftist politicians have dismissed the horrors of October 7 and Hamas’ stated intent to obliterate Israel, which it is attempting to do with Iran’s help. Israel’s response has been to try to destroy Hamas and put an end to its ability to harm Israeli citizens. The response from the global community should have been to exert strong pressure on Hamas to surrender and on Iran to desist. Instead, the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and woke politicians in the West (who are next in line to be targets of jihadists), have condemned and persecuted Israel. That includes the International Criminal Court. Many among the woke have also exploited the opportunity to exhibit partisanship and blame the so-called “far right” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. French lawmaker Aymeric Caron, for example, boycotted a diplomatic trip to Israel due to the Gaza war. He stated of the French group en route to the meetings:
This group is led by parliamentarians who, no matter what they say, support the extreme right-wing Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu.
Politicians such as Aymeric Caron are clueless about Islamic history as it pertains to Israel, and to the quest to obliterate the Jewish state from the river to the sea. While Caron, along with those who have an axe to grind against Netanyahu, makes the war on Hamas about Israeli politics, that isn’t really what it is about at all. Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has defended Israel’s war on Hamas and slammed the International Criminal Court as a “joke” for seeking arrest warrants against democratically elected Israeli leaders, including Netanyahu.
The war on Hamas is a war of a democratic state against barbaric jihad terrorists who aim for conquest, not only of the region, but of the world, as they have openly proclaimed.
Bennett also warned in early May that “‘America is next’ to be attacked by radical Islamic forces unless it keeps pushing back, as it is ‘fighting the same battle.’”

If Hamas were to blow up building on the Columbia campus, based on the actions of the DoJ, little to no action would be brought against the perpetrators. Bob Unruh of the WND news site points out that the DoJ jailed a seventy plus year old lady and others for simply praying at an abortion clinic and the difference in administering the law against the January 6 where 1,400+ people have been excessively persecuted while as the article points out, “the DOJ refuses to bring federal charges against pro-Palestinian demonstrators who in many instances engaged in similar if not worse conduct inside congressional buildings over the past six months,”
To imprison someone for attempting to prevent the slaughter of unborn children by saying prayers while not even imprisoning others for physically attacking Jewish students and in some cases the campus police.

I’m sorry, but the argument that Netanyahy was democratically elected doesn’t fly with me. Hitler too was democratically elected in 1933. Not that I am against Netanyahu, on the contrary, I think he does a super job and I’m all for Israel. But his election has nothing to do with that.

FYI, Hitler never received more than 30% of the vote and he was placed in power by Von Hindenburg. Von Hindenburg thought he could control Hitler but as history shows, he was greatly mistaken. The President of the Jewish State of Israel is leading his nation in a defensive action as his nation was attacked in the most brutal fashion not seen on such a scale for many years. Also, you mention Hitler and I am to conclude that the nations attacked were to sit (or maybe die) by and pretend they were the guilty party.

Leaders rarely receive an actual majority of the vote: at best, they get a plurality. It was true about Hitler, it was true about David Cameron, even Modi & his allies got 45% of the vote in 2019, when they peaked. If you have >2 parties in any country, the mere fragmentation of votes ensures that the best that one can get is a plurality. Likud is the biggest party in a coalition of several parties, and that coalition barely has a majority
Instead of drawing Hitler comparisons, the best thing is to recognize that what we term “democracy” in those countries are in fact representative governments in that period of time. Of all the Israeli politicians out there, Netanyahu comes the closest in representing the opinion of his people, more than anyone else who’d like his job
