Who knew? Eric Clapton, usually described as “guitar legend Eric Clapton,” turns out to be a Class-A antisemite, who sees powerful Jews in AIPAC running the United States, while the Jewish state, Israel, is “running the world,” as it continues to make life hell for innocent Palestinians. More on his mental malignancy can be found here: “Eric Clapton: ‘Israel is running the world,'” by David Brinn, Jerusalem Post, May
British rock guitar legend Eric Clapton moved one step closer to Roger Waters territory last week, telling an interviewer that “Israel is running the world, Israel is running the show.”
The 79-year-old musician, who has recently performed playing a guitar painted in the colors of the Palestinian flag, was interviewed on May 22 by David Spuria, an American YouTuber who hosts the popular Real Music Observer show.
Talking about the recent campus protests in the US against Israel, Clapton criticized the Senate hearings in which university presidents were asked about antisemitism on campus.
“I was so enthused about what was going on at Columbia [University] and elsewhere. And then what I couldn’t believe, because it freaked me out, were the Senate hearings, which were like the Nuremberg trials, you know?” he said.
He was “enthused” about what was happening at Columbia, where a violent mob of protesters did the following: they took over Hamilton Hall, sealed its entries, and refused to leave; they harassed Jewish students making their way to classes or to the library; they chanted endlessly that “from the river to the sea/Palestine will be free,” which, rightly understood, means the disappearance of the one tiny Jewish state and its replacement by a 23rd Arab state. Clapton was also enthused by Columbia faculty members who showed up to support the protesters and the terror group Hamas — including such malevolent figures as Joseph Massad (who declared himself “exhilarated” by the October 7 atrocities of Hamas ), Rashid Khalidi, and Hamid Dabashi. He was “enthused” by all the on-campus demonstrations across the land, the tent encampments, the demands that universities sever all ties with not just the state of Israel, but with Israeli faculty and students, the subjecting of Jewish students on many campuses to harassment, to antisemitic chants accusing Jews of “genocide,” and even to physical violence.
Yes, of course, Eric Clapton is right. Those Senate hearings where three university presidents, from Harvard, MIT, and UPenn, were asked to explain their institutions’ policies concerning antisemitism were just “like the Nuremberg trials.” Now let’s look at that accusation: Clapton appears to be saying that those Congressional hearings were just as terrible, as unfair, as the Nuremberg Trials. What should we call someone who thinks that the Nuremberg Trials were “unfair” to the defendants? Doesn’t Clapton make you… queasy?
“The Senate committee chairman asked pointed questions to presidents of universities, saying, ‘I just want to hear yes or no. Don’t talk to me about context. Yes or no, are you promoting antisemitism on your campus?’ And I thought, what is this, the Spanish Inquisition? And it is! It’s AIPAC, it’s the lobby. Israel is running the show. Israel is running the world.”
Apparently if Congressmen ask university presidents about how they are dealing with antisemitism on their campuses, this is a display of sinister vast power akin to that wielded by the Spanish Inquisition. But the Spanish Inquisition condemned people to death. The House Committee on Education and the Workplace can punish only with a verbal scolding. Can you, Eric Clapton, spot the difference?
And what about his alarm about the power of AIPAC, the pro-Israel advocacy group, that does nothing more sinister than try, like any lobbying group, to support candidates sympathetic to its views? But there is worse still. Clapton claims that “Israel is running the world.” This is Protocols-of-the-Elders-of-Zion stuff: the sinister Jews — bankers or media moguls — who behind the scenes are indeed “ruling the world.” But Mr. Clapton, if Israel is indeed “running the world,” why did the UN General Assembly just vote overwhelmingly to recognize a “State of Palestine,” with a resolution that Israel opposed? Why has the UN General Assembly passed more anti-Israel resolutions than it has passed against all the other 193 member states combined? Why wasn’t Israel able to block those resolutions? Why couldn’t all-powerful Israel, according to Clapton “running the world,” manage to prevent both the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ) from voting against Israel? Why was it that the Zionists could do nothing, when 78% of the land that was originally supposed to be included in the Mandate for Palestine, and hence in the future Jewish state, was instead assigned to a newly-created Arab state, the Emirate of Transjordan? And if the Jews are so powerful, how is It that they could no nothing to prevent the Holocaust, in which one-third of world Jewry was murdered by the Nazis?
Talking about the guitar painted with the Palestinian flag colors, Clapton said, “We’re doing a thing now on this tour that I wrote originally as a tribute to Jeff Beck [who died in 2023]. I performed it at a tribute concert and then I didn’t play it anymore. But for this tour I’m doing it under a different guise. It’s the same tune, but I devoted it to the situation in Gaza. It’s called ‘Blue Dust’ because that’s what’s probably going to be left there. And I play a guitar that’s painted like the Palestinian flag.”…
Ironic touch, that — the new tour that began with Clapton’s desire to pay tribute to fellow guitarist Jeff Beck. Does Clapton remember how in 2010 Jeff Beck ignored calls for him not to play in Israel and went ahead anyway, because, unlike Clapton, he was just fine with the Jewish state? No, I don’t think he does.
And now Clapton has decided to make sure that everyone will know just where he stands on “Palestine.” Forget the civil wars in Syria, Libya, Yemen. Forget the Arabs murdering hundreds of thousands of blacks in the Sudan. For Clapton, only Israel’s putative wickedness matters. His guitar has been painted like the Palestinian flag. He’s going to be replaying an old song, but now he’s “devoted it to the situation in Gaza,” and its new name is “Blue Dust,” because after Israel gets through with Gaza, according to Clapton, only “dust” will remain. I have no idea why that “dust” will be blue.
Clapton likes any group or state that can stand up to that “neighborhood bully” Israel, that Clapton claims is “running the world.” Perhaps Clapton also likes Hamas for the same reason he likes Putin. In its charter Hamas says exactly what it intends to do — destroy Israel — and has been trying to achieve that ever since it began in 1987. Its most recent attempt began on October 7, 2023. And if the IDF is prevented by the Bidenites from destroying the last four intact battalions of Hamas that are holed up in Rafah, so that at the end of hostilities Hamas can claim to be “still standing,” the terror group has vowed to regroup, and attack Israel, just as it did on that day, “again and again.” Clapton likes Putin just the way he likes such leaders of Hamas as Yahya Sinwar and Muhammad Deif — straight-shooters, the lot of them.

Let’s suppose that a tender was published asking for various nations to make a pitch to ‘run the world.’ The Israeli pitch would easily outshine the rest.

Sounds good to me. You’ve got the job Israel. (Tell the others they can go home) Can you start Monday? I’ll inform HR.

Why can’t Israel say OK Joe Biden how about we do things your way and you guarantee that we not be attacked. In the event we’re attacked you and the rest of those demanding Israel hold back commit full military support to Israel as Israel holds back. Watch the cowards flee to their rat holes!!! Watch the prevarication and rationalization. The West is about to suffer extreme punishment from The God of Israel SOON AND VERY SOON. Damnation is one thing but to suffer damnation for being DAMNED FOOLS is disgraceful. But here way go.

He may know how to play music, but he is really stupid.
If ‘Israel was “running the show”…”running the world”….then why has it been so difficult for Israel to get the support it needs to wipe out a group of ghouls who murder little babies by burning them to death, rape and murder little children and young women, and do other unspeakable things because the victims are Jews, citizens of Israel?
“Running the show” once meant being in control. Now using the *new* language of today, it means having to fight for survival while being accused of genocide, facing demands to turn oneself in to a crooked court for punishment of crimes not committed, and being libeled and slandered by the majority of the “world” they are supposed to be “running.”
clapton is not unlike the biden liar….demented and dishonest.
I’m glad I never listened to his music, never gave him a dime.

“Israel is running the world”. What a paranoid load of bullshit from this braindead, nasty moron. He sounds like one of those idiots who are islamic “scholars”. Maybe that should be his next gig, becoming an islamic “scholar”. He already possesses the paranoia about Jewish people that all those fuckwits have. The way things are going these days, I am beginning to worry that rotten, evil islam will end up running the world. Now that would be a terrible fate. With all our countries letting so many Muslims in and the way that Muslims breed like rabbits compared to all other groups of people, given time, islam could end up winning. On Clapton, you would think that he would think that saying “Israel is running the world”, tiny Israel is running the world, is so moronically stupid that he would have not come out and said it. Stick with guitar playing, mate, don’t open your mouth, you moron.

Thanks, Hank. He seems as though he would fit right in with insane, paranoid view of the world that those intellectual giants, the Muslim “scholars” all have which is that the Jews are behind everything that happens. How could anybody be so off the planet insane as to say that tiny little israel is running the world?
gravenimage says
And the crazy thing, Tim, is that Eric Clapton *never* could have had a career like his in any Muslim country–and in fact in many he would have been violently targeted for playing music at all. In fact, the *only* place in the Middle East where he could have had a free music career is…Israel, the very place he condemns. Madness.

Wow, you are so right now I’m really shocked such a talented musician without any brain who would have thought of this?
tim gallagher says
Yes, Levy, Clapton’s comment is so far out there on planet insanity that you would think he might have said to himself, hey, wait a minute, Israel is running the world, I better not actually say that because it is so idiotic. China or the USA might be contenders for who is powerful enough to be “running the world”, but not a tiny country like Israel. It is one of the most idiotic statements I have ever heard.

Eric Clapton has been an amazing musical talent for decades – the gold standard of blues / rock / pop with top-notch guitar playing and vocals.
I saw him play live twice – both excellent shows.
But after today, and his anti-Semitic statements / actions, I don’t think that I can listen to him anymore…
Mike says
“Layla” by Derek and the Dominos is one of the greatest songs ever in my humble opinion.
No question that Clapton is a formidable talent.
However, like with Robert de Niro and his TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome), Mr. Clapton seems to be talking through his hat.

It doesn’t take brains to be a musician. Believe me. Way back when (teen days) I handed off my guitar to my brother (not that I quit playing) who wanted to be a professional musician. I’m sorry to say he wasn’t the smartest in his decisions but certainly not dumb. Perhaps that is the reason he never succeeded and decided to eventually follow me in to IT. Clapton probably doesn’t have the sense to launch a browser. He probably needs help doing that.
Over Clapton’s 60 year career he had perhaps ten good songs. Some say more but I’m not convinced.

How strange it appears that those, like Clapton or Roger waters, tell us the Jews are running the world and yet we see the MSM of today putting down every Jewish voice that ever turns up on TV or Social media so if the Jews are so powerful dont you think they would have a bigger country…
Inquiring minds want to know.
Im seriously disappointed in Eric, one of childhood hero’s, but then so was Roger Waters as I am British born in 1948 so I grew up with their music but I guess we change as we grow older.
Eric spoke in favor of Enoch Powell in London 1968 and then later took his words back saying he was out of his head.

My understanding is that his speech wasn’t just a tribute to Enoch Powell, it was a full blown racist attack. Ironic, given that the blues inspired his music ?

My gut amazes me. It tells me things long before I know them to be true. It told me to stay away from the jab. I did some research and became convinced that it was Russian Roulette. Now people are dropping dead by the thousands. Many fools are still hanging on to the lie but law suits and class action suits prove that my gut was right at the outset. The same with Clapton. Many years ago, the first time I saw him, my gut said, “He’s a sicko.” I didn’t have any feelings one way or the other. I never liked rock so he didn’t sound any different to me than hundreds of others but my gut had a real reaction to him and I ignored him ever since. My gut had the same negative reaction to General Montgomery. It reacted to him worse than to Hitler. Our general Patton felt the same way. I loved Patton. I bet Montgomery was an Antisemite, too.

As a guitar player myself I used to admire Clapton, however not anymore. Think all the drugs and alcohol he consumed have killed a few brain cells. It’s people like this that have no clue about Islam.
