Muslim Demands on Keir Starmer Show How Far Muslim Political Power Has Developed in the UK

Muslim Vote has demanded that Labour’s Keir Starmer “stop people with the name ‘Muhammad’ being charged more for insurance should he become prime minister.” The prime minister has no ability to set insurance rates; it’s a business decision out of his ken. Insurance rates are set purely on the basis of likelihoods of accidents or other mishaps, not on the name of the policy holder. It may well be that on the whole Muslims in the UK pay higher rates for some forms of insurance. Perhaps they have a higher rate of automobile accidents, or a higher incidence of home fires, or suffer more slip-and-falls, that would explain the higher premiums. That accident record, and not bigotry — as Muslim Vote apparently believes — explains the difference in premiums. It [Muslim Vote] has also demanded a law that criminalises spiritual and religious leaders from instructing their congregation how to vote is scrapped and wants seven per cent of public sector pensions to be invested into ‘ethical and Islamic funds’….

The law that prevents religious leaders from telling their congregations how to vote is intended to prevent undue influence by the clergy — all clergy — over their flocks. Imagine, for example, what would be the horrified reaction if a Christian clergyman in the U.K. would not only rant against homosexuals in his sermons, but also tell his congregants that they must not vote for this or that candidate who supports homosexual rights. Muslim Vote wants the imams to be allowed to maintain their sway over Muslims to vote only for those candidates who support the Muslims’ demands.

One of its [Muslim Vote’s] supporters, Muhammad Jalal, who has appeared on the campaign’s social media pages, was previously head of the now-banned Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir….

Look how far Muslim political power has developed in the UK. Muhammad Jalal, the former head of one of the most extreme Islamist groups, Hizb ut-Tahrir, that is banned in the UK, is nonetheless now a formidable political force on social media, one of the public faces of Muslim Vote. Some might be wondering why he isn’t in prison for helping to radicalize other Muslims. He is apparently untouchable.

Muslims in the UK are, like those in the US, easing themselves into political power by starting at the local level, knowing that they can count on Muslim voters who will vote as a bloc for the Muslim candidate. And as their numbers increase, through both continued immigration and the higher fertility rates of Muslim women, their political power will inexorably increase. For those who do not look with equanimity on this future, it’s a time for great alarm. Can Muslim immigration be stopped? Can the generous benefits of the British welfare state be withheld from immigrants during, say, the first five years of their residence in the UK, which would be one way to cause some Muslims to reconsider choosing to immigrate to the UK when there may be better prospects elsewhere?

Many of those elected made the conflict in the Middle East part of their campaign, with some wearing rosettes in the colours of the Palestinian flag while others dedicated their victories to the people of Gaza, including one Green councillor who shouted ‘Allahu Akbar!’ after winning….

The just-elected Muslim councilors are not shy about proclaiming their Muslim solidarity and triumphalism. Some engage in Allahu-akbaring after their victories, others display rosettes with the colors of the Palestinian flag, or dedicate their victories to “the people of Gaza.” They didn’t run on local issues — making the streets safer and cleaner, or improving old-age homes and bus routes. No: they ran on promises to push the UK’s foreign policy to become ever more hostile to the Jewish state, and to increase the numbers of Muslim would-be immigrants allowed into the UK. And they sense that they are winning.

Among the other non-negotiable demands that Muslim Vote has just made of Keir Starmer, is that the U.K. “recognize a Palestinian state,” that he “apologize for greenlighting (!) Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza, that he impose sanctions on companies “operating in the occupied territories” and on settlers, that he “ensure that Sharia-compliant pensions” be available at the workplace, and that 7% of the public sector pensions be invested in “ethical and Islamic funds.”

And Muslim Vote is just getting started on its Long March to what it sees as inexorably increasing Muslim political power, reflecting the demographic jihad that no British government seems willing to tackle, or even to discuss.
