Germany: Muslims plotted to murder as many non-Muslims as possible inside and outside church on Ascension Day

Why didn’t German authorities just let this plot go ahead, so as to celebrate the diversity they have so marvelously visited upon their country?

Vienna/Düsseldorf. – A few days ago it was announced that the German State Security Service and the Düsseldorf Public Prosecutor’s Office were able to celebrate a successful investigation. The state security service in Vienna, from which the German authorities received a tip, is also partly responsible for this success. Accordingly, the Austrian state security service warned the German security authorities about a young terrorist cell that was planning attacks on a church, reports the Standard.

Four teenagers arrested
The attack should ideally take place on a day like Ascension Day, when the church is well attended. But people outside the church who were described by the young people as “kuffar,” i.e. unbelievers, were also to be killed. Cities such as Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Cologne were considered as possible destinations. Four young people, two male and two female, from North Rhine-Westphalia and Baden-Württemberg had drawn up this attack plan. All four have been in custody since the Easter weekend on suspicion of terrorism.

As the Standard further reports, one of the young people in particular is said to have been known to the German authorities for a long time. She was noticed because of her plans to leave for the Islamic State (IS). As WDR reports, storage media was primarily confiscated during the executive raids on the Easter weekend. A machete and a dagger were also found on the second teenager.

Influencer for the Caliphate
The German news agency dpa reported, citing security circles, that the young people had also been radicalized by Islamist influencers. Names and details were not given. In social media like TikTok, it is primarily Salafist figures from Germany who achieve a high reach and thus lure young people in order to radicalize them, the Standard report emphasizes. Just in November, two 15 and 16-year-old teenagers were arrested in Germany on suspicion of terrorism. They were said to have sympathized with IS and planned an attack on a Christmas market, as Focus online reports. They are in custody in North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg. However, the radicalization does not seem to be limited to young people in Germany, but apparently extends to Switzerland. Three young people were also arrested there on suspicion of terrorism and taken into custody.
