Rabbi Elie Buechler, who co-directs the Orthodox Union’s Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus (JLIC) for Columbia University and Barnard College, told Jewish students on Sunday to stay home until the campus environment improves.
“What we are witnessing in and around campus is tragic. The events of the last few days, especially last night, have made it clear that Columbia University’s Public Safety and the NYPD [New York City Police Department] cannot guarantee Jewish students’ safety in the face of extreme antisemitism and anarchy,” the rabbi wrote to a group of 290-plus students on the WhatsApp messaging app.
“It deeply pains me to say that I strongly recommend you return home as soon as possible and remain home until the reality in and around campus has dramatically improved,” he wrote…..

This is completely repulsive for the Rabbi to be in a situation where he must advise the Jewish students to return home until this has blown over. I have seen where some universities are being shut down owing to the violence on the campuses. As everyone knows, the tuition at most of these schools is way over the top and for how long are the students expected to remain at their own place of habitation?
Instead of utilizing the school’s security force and the local, or maybe the National Guard, to rid campuses and surrounding areas of this plight, these sorry excuses for university and local officials call for the students who are attempting to acquire an education to return home. I bet that some of the students being told to scram have nowhere to go as they have paid for the accommodations that they are expected to simply to leave like good little sheep. This whole turn of events is completely immoral and I hope that there are some law firms and organizations that will bring huge lawsuits against these cowards.

Jewish students at Columbia need to file lawsuits against the University for:
1. A refund of all monies paid for tuition, room and board, fees, etc.
2. Punitive damages ($ millions).

I wonder how many of those brilliant young Jewish students, from the USA and from numerous other countries, will take a long look around them, at the shrieking mobs that are working themselves up to conduct pogroms, decide, “I’m outta here”, and promptly buy a plane ticket to Israel… I foresee a LOT of new recruits for the IDF.
