Despite the politicking by Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, his country is a recognized powerful supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Hamas is an offshoot.
According to the Foundation For Defense of Democracies, Qatar “has enabled” Hamas “politically and financially for decades”; Doha has hosted “key members of Hamas’s senior leadership and has given an estimated $1.8 billion to Gaza’s Hamas-run government.”
Qatar clearly should not be an option as a “mediator” involving Israel. It is a pro-Hamas state. Any involvement Qatar could possibly have with Israel would be a case of the fox guarding the henhouse.

Al Thani said, “There is exploitation and abuse of the Qatari role.”
He further added that Qatar had been the victim of “point-scoring” by “politicians who are trying to conduct election campaigns by slighting the State of Qatar”.
The Qatari prime minister, who is also the foreign minister, said there was a “misuse of this mediation for narrow political interests, and this necessitated Qatar to undertake a full evaluation of this role”. …

There is a lot of hutzpah from a nation that would be eaten alive were it not for the US Al-Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar would be “easy pickens” as one would say in North Carolina. The US also pays a hotel in Doha when a courier with documents has a layover and trust me, it is not cheap. Were I Prime Minister Benjemin Netanyahu, I would literally laugh in this clowns face. Besides, what is there to negotiate when a nation is attacked and the attacker is completely demolished?
One other note is that Mullahs in Tehran should remember that Israel is not without the very last option of defense.
