He is upset about Taliban members committing sexual assault and theft, which would not actually be crimes or sins unless the victims were known to be pious Muslims who accepted Taliban rule, rather than non-Muslims or Muslim renegades. And he might indeed have information to that effect. But if the Taliban members were sexually assaulting non-Muslim women and stealing from non-Muslims, or Muslims whom they could plausibly declare unbelievers for rejecting their rule, the would be no Islamic grounds on which to object.

In an audio recording obtained by Afghanistan International, a Taliban commander in Sar-e Pul province has strongly criticised the behaviour and extravagance of the group’s leaders, including the misappropriation of people’s assets.
He expressed that the jihad was not waged for Taliban commanders to appropriate lands and for fighters to commit acts of sexual violence against women.
The commander described certain members of the Taliban as “oppressors” and “sinners,” accusing them of engaging in sexual assault and theft. He revealed that some offenders have been released after bribing their way out, undermining the group’s integrity.
He also declared, “People have the right to take up arms and rise up against the Taliban.” The audio highlights issues like forced migrations, noting that residents of Jowzjan and Balkh provinces have been compelled to flee to neighbouring countries due to the Taliban’s oppressive actions….

Dog and pony show to make public statements to the outside world to show that the Talban is “human and fair ” and that it cares about “woman rights” .I am sure if anyone forms another group to oppose the local muck e muck Taliban or takes up arms against the local Taliban warlord he will be killed and the woman folk from infant to old Grandmothers in his family will be in the put into sexual slavery status or killed outright.

Then why was the jihad waged? After all, the country had a constitution that declared it an islamic republic, there were muslims in charge, so there were no other reasons to wage the jihad.
