“Incident in supermarket: ‘In my country you would already be dead!,'” translated from “Vorfall in Supermarkt: „In meinem Land wärst du bereits tot!,“ Unser Tirol, March 16, 2024 (thanks to Medforth):
Another worrying incident has occurred in South Tyrol’s state capital. A 24-year-old Iraqi man entered a supermarket and threatened the store manager. Bolzano’s new quaestor didn’t hesitate for long and quickly revoked the foreigner’s residence permit.
The whole thing happened late on Thursday afternoon. The Bolzano law enforcement officers were called to an emergency call to a Eurospar supermarket. The emergency services were immediately deployed and were able to find the Iraqi in the supermarket who had carried out an attack on the same store three days earlier and made threats.
According to the Bolzano Quaesture, the manager of the supermarket said that the Iraqi had threatened her with death a few minutes earlier and that he said several times: “In my country you would already be dead.” According to information, the foreigner tried to downplay the incident. The 24-year-old was reported for serious threats. The quaestor of the province of Bolzano, Paolo Sartori, revoked the Iraqi’s residence permit due to the incidents.
David Fahey says
That is what all western countries need. Officials with the power to revoke residency permits on the spot and deport foreign undesirables immediately.
If they want to appeal, they can do so from wherever they came from.

Okay, but has the Iraqi been deported? Iraq is now a peaceful country for muslims after both the fall of Saddam, the US imposition of democracy & the US withdrawal. So there’s no reason any Iraqi should be put up in Italy or anywhere else in Europe
I hope the revocation of his permit doesn’t simply mean him relocating to somewhere else in Italy or Europe

A government agency reacting appropriately? How ist that?
Namer says
Lots of people in the US would have an issue with him over his threats and he wouldnt like the result.
James Lincoln says
Step one: revoke that muslim’s residency permit.
Step two: deport – immediately.

You’re correct, it is really not that hard. He/she/it can appeal through our embassy in their country, if we don’t have an embassy in their country they probably shouldn’t have been here anyway.

If I see this banner one more time:
“They are not dangerous
They are in danger
#Refugees welcome”
I’m gonna puke.
