Switzerland: Davos ski shop posts sign in Hebrew barring Jews from renting ski equipment

Those who think they’re righteous can commit all manner of evils and think they’re on the side of the good.

“Swiss ski shop under fire for banning Jews,” Israel National News, February 13, 2024:

Switzerland’s main Jewish organization on Monday denounced an antisemitic sign put up at a local ski shop near Davos, barring Jews from renting equipment from the store, The Associated Press reported.

Regional police have opened an investigation, the report stated.

The sign on Pischa Mountain above Davos, a town known for hosting the annual World Economic Forum meeting of global elites each January, said the shop would no longer rent gear such as sleds, skis and snowshoes to “our Jewish brothers” after a series of “very annoying incidents”, including the theft of a sled.

The message, written in Hebrew, appeared to be directed at Israeli Jews who have been traveling to Davos in growing numbers in recent years, both for summertime and wintertime holiday getaways, according to AP.

“After a series of annoying incidents, including the theft of a sled, we are no longer renting out sporting equipment to our Jewish brothers,” said the sign, put on a window at a counter with helmets sitting on a shelf in the back.

Police in the eastern Graubünden canton, or region, said in an email that they have opened an investigation for possible criminal violation of Swiss law banning discrimination and incitement to hatred….

  4. Switzerland, officially “natural” during World War II, behaved shamefully during World War II. It turned away 24,500 Jews hopping to be admitted, sending them back to certain death. During the war it sold weapons to Nazi Germany. It became the storehoutse for the gold that the Nazis plundered from Jewish victims. And after the war, Swiss banks refused to contact the heirs of Jews who had placed billions o dollars in Swiss banks before the war, and then were murdered. Instead, the banks kept the money for themselves..

    • If it Hadn’t been for George H W Bush’s father making money by selling initiator chemicals to both sides, Hitler could not have made the detonators for the bombs or shells he dropped on Europe and North Africa. So he probably would not have started WWII.

      Switzerland’s neutrality and their (wartime horde, gold dental filling) banking facilities remain an interesting topic of conversation amongst some Europeans. One might ask what is going to happen to the contents of the Safety deposit boxes in 2045 that remain unopened since 1945.

      If the IRS can force the swiss banks to disclose details of US citizens with numbered bank accounts details of their account details, How come the families of Nazi victims still cannot get property back.

    Expel the Swiss Ambassador to every country with a large percentage of Jews in Gov’t.
    Deny Swiss Citizens and businesses entry visa’s.
    Freeze swiss assets. Ground stop all Swiss flights
    Send Mossad after the store owner.

    C’mon guys it’s a free world get over it. Word will get around and they will lose business as terrorist supporters. Its not international news.

  6. No surprise after watching Swiss uniforms defending and guarding WEFers at Davos from questioning, all in an unsavory and dictatorial manner, as though they are in fact employed by them rather than the citizenry.

    Side note: I’m reading a history of Switzerland and note a description of an era in the 1600s characterized by a great influx of foreigners whose interests ran counter to those of the then extant population and who had no wish to assimilate. It’s a perfect description of the current situation in Switzerland, the US, and many other countries.

    I saw an interesting interview a woman from CBS had with a hamas recruiter (lying mozlum, of course) and a lying idiot. Some of the statements made by the anchors, were on target, although the 2state thingy was said to be the solution. The statements made **after** the 2state thingy is really something, coming from CBS.

      • You are welcome. And yes, I was surprised that he spoke the Truth after the interviews were over….about what hamas wants and what it would mean for Israel.
        He, and they, need to let his own words sink in. And stew on the words the hamas “recruiter” had to say about what they want, how they feel about civilians …their own kind….being killed…etc.

        As you say, it’s “quite a soup.”

  9. “our Jewish brothers”, are not wanted in a Switzerland shop because the shopkeeper claims he has a missing sled? An imaginative attempt to discriminate without appearing to be discriminating.

    The Swiss method of neutrality is imbued with profit from wars and protection by NATO, free of military or financial obligations. It offers fake timorousness, yet is an avid political voyeur. Once, “the” place to hide money in anonymous bank accounts.

  12. Not far from Davos Switzerland in the Bavarian Alps of Southern Germany directly on the Border with Austria is the highest Mountain in Germany known as the Zugspitize, near the town of Garmisch.
    At its highest Peak is a mini mosque.. ”muslim prayer room” for the Staff that work at the Hotel up there as they complained they cannot get the time off to go down the Mountain to stick their asses in the air and so the Hotel Management cleaned out an old Store Room, put in a Carpet and said there you go.
    However the muslims looked out the one window and demanded the Crucifix on the other Peak must be removed as this is offensive for them to see but the Management said..”Just close the curtains”.
    Now this mini mosque is there with a toilet beside it that has a sign outside that states, in German of course…
    Toilet for use by muslims ONLY.
    So a toilet in Germany that most Germans are not allowed to use and this ”law” was made by non Germans.
    Ask a German if they know about this and do not surprised if they have never heard of it and it has been up there for years already.
    I wish somebody would film it so that the World can witness it….
    I dont live anywhere near Germany though I did at one time.
