Israel had long faced a globalist gang-up. It did not start on October 7, but is particularly dangerous given the events of October 7.
International Criminal Court prosecutor Karim Khan stated that “his office may be pushed to take action against Israel,” over Israel’s “bombardment and potential entry of Israeli troops into Rafah in Gaza.”
Even Joe Biden weighed in:
Israel must make “credible” efforts to protect the more than one million Palestinians sheltering in the southern Gazan city.
South Africa has also “lodged an ‘urgent request’ with the U.N.’s International Court of Justice to consider whether Israel’s military operations targeting the southern Gaza city of Rafah are a breach of provisional orders the court handed down last month in a case alleging genocide.”
Critical points have been absent from the recriminations and the gang-up against the tiny Jewish state, which now includes Karim Khan:
1. Recognition of the urgency of Israel’s fight for its survival and its grave difficulties in light of the tremendous expanse of Hamas tunnels — not to mention the discovery of UNRWA’s involvement with Hamas.
2. Iran’s deadly proxies, and the abiding threat of Iran itself.
3. Muslim Brotherhood-supporting Qatar, which has been funding Hamas.
4. Hamas’ use of human shields.
The ICC is more serious than the International Court of Justice.
Unlike the ICJ, the ICC has an enforcement mechanism, meaning there is a much higher chance of it issuing arrest warrants for Israelis.
The last thing Israel needs now are threats from the International Criminal Court, which has for years been colluding with the Palestinian Authority. On December 31, 2014, the Palestinians announced that they were joining the ICC with the specific intention of pursuing war crimes investigations and charges against Israel. Their announcement came a day after the UN Security Council voted down a resolution setting a three-year deadline for the establishment of a Palestinian state on lands that the UN regards as “occupied” by Israel.
Israel has no choice but to adhere to its plan to destroy Hamas, amid the widespread ignoring of Hamas’ use of civilians as human shields.
“ICC’s threat on Israel’s Rafah invasion is serious – this is why,” by Yonah Jeremy Bob, Jerusalem Post, February 13, 2024:
International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan’s strongly implied threat to bring war crimes charges against Israelis if the IDF invades Rafah, as well as for its general conduct of the ongoing war, could be the most dramatic war crimes moment for Israel to date.
There was no public hearing yet, the word genocide was not used, and Israeli officials did not publicly respond.
This left his statement swallowed up and mainly ignored by Israeli media coverage of the hostage rescue. But anyone who ignores Khan’s threat simply does not understand the power and influence of the ICC.
Large parts of Israel and the world followed the International Court of Justice with bated breath last month during the public hearings and the day of the interim decision on genocide allegations…..
