That’s swell, but where have Biblical teachings been used to justify any terror act similar to the bombing of the Catholic mass in Marawi?
And how do these Muslim leaders define “innocent civilians,” when jihadists argue that civilians in America, Britain, Israel, and anywhere they consider to be at war with Islam are not innocent? It would have been refreshing if the Christian leaders had asked them to clarify this point, but of course they did not do so.

Muslim and Christian leaders met a few days ago in a display of interreligious unity more than a month after a deadly bombing rocked a Catholic Mass at a university in the southern city of Marawi.
The meeting took place on January 16 and 17 in Cotabato City, which was also in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the January 24 Peace Day.
In deploring the December 3 attack that claimed four lives, they asserted that the killing of innocent civilians and religious believers is a “demonic act” that must be “condemned by the teachings of every religion in the world.”
“The killing of innocent civilians by terrorists under the guise of religion is a condemnable and cruel irreligious act that defiantly contradicts both Muslims and Christian beliefs,” they said a statement.
As religious leaders, they have agreed to be “pro-active against similar terrorist acts” by imparting the true teachings of their respective religious traditions and sacred scriptures—the Qur’an and the Bible—to their followers.
“The way of interreligious dialogue is one of the most effective ways of establishing a culture of peace, mutual respect and understanding among peoples of different faiths in the Bangsamoro and the whole country in general,” they added….

That idea is half right. And half wrong. However the flaw is in calling both “religions”. No real religion condones the murder of so called “infidels” or non believers. So in actuality, one of these is not a religion but an ideology. I believe most know which one.

That depends on the definition of religion and on the justification of ‘freedom of religion’. Most often reference is made to the origin of the word, ‘religare’, ‘to bind’, as in binding together, group formation. This, however, leaves out the moral aspect that Western culture ascribes to religion. If one leaves out this moral aspect, yes, mohamedanism qualifies as a religion. If, however, one requires a moral aspect for a group to qualify as religion, then obviously mohamedanism doesn’t qualify.
But let’s face it, even when we assume morality not to be a criterion for the qualification ‘religion’, that doesn’t mean that groups claiming to be a religion are free to call for the genocide of other groups, or to call for child rape, or to call for, or tolerate, slavery, or cruel and unusual punishment, to name just a few minor subjects. In Islam ever person that is not Moslem or does not submit to Moslems as a slave is an active combatant ,they are at war with every non-Moslem man women and child .Islam is a religion just a very violent one that does not believe in the golden rule ,and thinks murdering non-believers will get them into Moslem “heaven”. .It is a religion like the Inca religion in ancient Central America that believe in killing non-Believers to their gods ,or god (allah) as a blood offering.
